  • Patent number: 8794718
Abstract: A valve unit for an electro-pneumatic brake control is connected to an input of an air-quantity-boosting valve for the aeration/venting thereof. A double-armature solenoid valve includes primary and secondary armatures each spring-loaded and actuated by a common magnet coil. The primary armature is a switch for a vent valve; the secondary armature is a switch for an intake valve. When the coil is not drawing current, the armatures are in spring-loaded position, the intake valve blocking intake and the vent valve venting. When a first current flows through the coil, the primary armature enters switching position, with the secondary armature in spring-loaded position; the intake valve blocking intake and the vent valve blocking venting. When a second current greater than the first flows through the coil, both primary and secondary armatures are moved into switching positions, so that the intake valve admits air and the vent valve blocks venting.

  • Patent number: 8539979
Abstract: A two-stage solenoid valve for an electropneumatic valve control unit, e.g., a pilot control unit of a pressure modulator, includes a solenoid system to which a first and second current intensity can be applied as well as a solenoid valve device with a primary side connectable to a first compressed-air supply and a secondary side connectable to a second compressed-air supply. A primary valve encompassing an adjustable primary armature biased by a primary armature spring is provided on the primary side, and a secondary valve encompassing an adjustable secondary armature biased by a secondary armature spring is provided on the secondary side. The solenoid valve device can be a valve cartridge insertable from one side. Diameters of a front (in relation to insertion direction) region and a central region of the valve cartridge are smaller than or equal to the diameter of a rear region of the valve cartridge.

  • Patent number: 8246121
Abstract: A solenoid-valve unit for an electropneumatic controller, especially a pilot-control unit of an electropneumatic pressure modulator of a vehicle, includes a solenoid-valve unit having a valve-housing bottom with compressed-air bores, and solenoid valves having solenoids and displaceable magnet armatures. The solenoids are disposed outside of the valve-housing bottom. At least one pressure sensor for measuring pneumatic pressure in a compressed-air bore of the valve-housing bottom is placed in or on the valve-housing bottom. Electric leads to the solenoids and to the pressure sensor are routed to a common electrical interface.

  • Patent number: 7905557
Abstract: A valve control unit including three valve units for two brake channels of an electropneumatic brake system is provided. Each valve unit is embodied as a valve modulator device for a braking pressure control circuit including an air inlet valve with a primary solenoid and a bleed valve with a secondary solenoid. Each modulator device armature includes a common solenoid guide arrangement controlled by the magnetic flux of a common magnetic coil. Independent operation of the armatures is achieved whereby flux through the secondary solenoid is weakened by a shunt in the flux circuit which causes a switching delay for the secondary solenoid relative to the primary solenoid. The magnetic resistance of a non-magnetic disc effects switch-off acceleration in the flux circuit with energized secondary solenoid, weakens the field and causes the secondary solenoid to revert to a spring-loaded base state at a higher flux than the primary solenoid.

  • Publication number: 20100059697
Abstract: The invention relates to a two-stage solenoid valve for an electropneumatic valve control unit, particularly a pilot control unit of a pressure modulator. Said solenoid valve at least comprises a solenoid system (6) to which a first and second current intensity can be applied as well as a solenoid valve device (8) that is accommodated in the solenoid system (6) and is provided with a primary side (8a) to be connected to a first compressed-air supply and a secondary side (8b) to be connected to a second compressed-air supply. A primary valve (10) encompassing an adjustable primary armature (10a) that is biased by means of a primary armature spring (10c) is provided on the primary side, while a secondary valve (11) encompassing an adjustable secondary armature (11a) which is biased by means of a secondary armature spring (11c) is provided on the secondary side. The solenoid valve device (8) is embodied as a valve cartridge which is to be inserted from one side.

  • Patent number: 6712333
Abstract: A valve mechanism in which a valve member is moveable into contact with a valve seat as a result of actuation of the valve. The valve seat and the valve closure member are designed such that they have essentially only line contact when the valve is closed, with the nominal width of the valve corresponding approximately to the sealing width of the valve. This construction allows a relatively large nominal width to be used for the flow cross section of the valve without the need for a much larger actuating force for the valve. To prevent damage to the valve seat and to the valve closure member, an elastic damping element may be disposed behind the valve closure member so that the valve closure member can deform compliantly up impact against the valve seat.
