    Abstract: A system for controlling the output power of wind turbines by active and dynamic modification of the power coefficient and swept bands dimension is described. At low wind speeds the turbine operates with maximum swept band areas and high power coefficients. At high wind speeds a reduction of swept band areas (A) and power coefficients are achieved by dynamic positioning (D) of blade segments (S) complemented with pitch control. The system aims to increment the annual production of electrical energy by the wind turbines.
