  • Patent number: 11442909
Abstract: A data analytics system. The data analytics system includes a communication processor configured to communicate with one or more remote electronic devices, and one or more electronic processors electrically coupled to the communication processor. The one or more electronic processors are configured to receive a first data from the one or more electronic devices, generate a determination including a first confidence level based on the first data, identify additional data which would increase the first confidence level; request the additional data, receive responses including the additional data, and generate a second confidence level of based on the second data.

  • Patent number: 10354350
Abstract: A method and system for information management for an incident response. The method comprises the following steps: A first communication allocating a responder to a specific assignment relating to the incident is received at a computing device from a command device. A second communication identifying assignment information that corresponds to the specific assignment is transmitted from the computing device to a graphic display device associated with the responder. Real-time sensor data is received at the computing device from one or more sensors. A third communication indicating progress in the specific assignment based at least in part on the real-time sensor data is transmitted from the computing device to one or more of the command device and the graphic display device.

  • Publication number: 20170124505
Abstract: A method and dispatch controller for assigning roles to responder units in a suspect pursuit. The method and controller include determining that the suspect pursuit is active and identifying a first responder unit as a pursuit unit to pursue the suspect. In response to a reevaluation trigger, the method and dispatch controller determine to reevaluate assignment of the pursuit unit. The reevaluation may occur, for example, when the pursuit unit is blocked by traffic or otherwise is separated from the suspect. Characteristic data is received regarding the responder units in response to the reevaluation trigger. The characteristic data is then evaluated to determine a suitability level of each of the responder units to be the pursuit unit. When the second responder unit has a higher suitability level than the first responder unit, the second responder unit is substituted as the pursuit unit.

  • Patent number: 9521610
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided that select an instance of a service for use by a mobile device. A list of multiple instances of the service is assembled, wherein each instance of the service of the multiple instances of the service is hosted by a different mobile device of multiple mobile devices. For each of the multiple instances of the service, situational information and environmental information is determined in association with the mobile device hosting the instance, wherein the situational information comprises information associated with an operating condition of a user of the hosting mobile device and wherein the environmental information comprises information associated with environmental conditions in which the hosting mobile device is operating. An instance of the service then is selected from among the multiple instances based on the environmental information and the situational information determined for each of the multiple instances.

  • Patent number: 8958743
Abstract: Mobile nodes without connectivity to a wireless network form mobile ad hoc networks with mobile nodes with connectivity to the wireless network. The moving directions for the mobile nodes are determined. If the mobile nodes are traveling in substantially the same direction the ad hoc network is formed. The mobile nodes then exchange capabilities. If a mobile node without connectivity to a particular network determines that another mobile node in the ad hoc network is connected to the network, the mobile node without connectivity can tunnel data to the network through the other mobile node.

  • Publication number: 20130346494
Abstract: A method for sharing data between a local device and a target device includes scanning for a fallback peer-to-peer (P2P) network by the local device. When the scanning finds the fallback P2P network, the local device joins the P2P network in order to connect to a target device. The local device can also create a fallback P2P network when the scanning does not find said fallback P2P network. The local device searches for a target device, using a Bluetooth generic attribute (GATT) personal device profile (PDP) protocol; and is capable of sharing a data file between the local and target devices upon receiving an indication that the target device had connected to said fallback P2P network. In response to a triggering event, the local and target devices connect to the P2P network to thereby support file sharing.

  • Publication number: 20120242840
Abstract: Disclosed are methods for using face-recognition software to enable a communicative act. For example, a user points the camera on his device at a friend. Software analyzes the image produced by the camera, detects the friend's face, and recognizes the friend. The recognized face is then associated with a profile, and an address for the friend is retrieved from the profile. The address can be used in communicating with the friend. The image containing the face may be retrieved by the user's device from a remote source. Aspects of the present invention are directed toward any type of communicative act. The communicative act need not be directed toward the friend whose face was recognized. For example, when that friend's profile is retrieved, it can be searched for a reference to another person, and the communicative act is then directed to that other person.

  • Publication number: 20080049689
Abstract: A mobile node or mobile device connects to a wireless network including at least one other mobile node that can connect to a plurality of other wireless networks. A target wireless network is selected with which to exchange data. It is determined whether or not the at least one mobile node is connected to the target wireless network. The at least one other mobile node is employed to exchange data with the target wireless network if the at least one mobile node is connected to the target wireless network.
