Abstract: A method and apparatus for executing an application by using a communication address may be implemented as terminal that includes a service providing unit that provides an application, and an IP address managing unit that assigns an IP address to the application. The terminal may also have a communication unit configured to operate as a Wi-Fi Host Access Point (AP) unit or as a Wi-Fi client unit. When the communication unit operates as a Wi-Fi Host AP unit, it uses the assigned IP address to carry out its WiFi host AP functions. When the communication unit operates as a Wi-Fi client unit, it searches for an accessible Wi-Fi Host AP, identifies a service set identifier (SSID) and an IP address of a Wi-Fi Host AP, and accesses the Wi-Fi Host AP.

Abstract: A method of controlling a photographing apparatus is described. A user interface is provided that includes an aperture setting menu for setting an aperture value of the photographing apparatus, a shutter speed setting menu for setting a shutter speed value of the photographing apparatus, and an exposure meter for displaying an exposure value. At least one of an aperture selection signal regarding the aperture setting menu or a shutter speed selection signal regarding the shutter speed setting menu is received. At least one of the aperture value, the shutter speed value, or the exposure value is calculated based on at least one of the received aperture selection signal or the received shutter speed selection signal.

Abstract: An electronic device and a method of preventing a deletion of a file are provided. If a deletion command is input from a computer with respect to at least one file stored on a storage unit, the electronic device determines whether the corresponding file is to be deleted by referring to a deletion prevention area. Accordingly, the electronic device maintains a deletion prevention function even when the deletion command is input from the computer.

Abstract: A method of setting a mode of an external device which is operable in a plurality of modes and a communication device using the same. The method of setting a mode controls the external device to be operated in at least one mode of a plurality of modes according to the movement of a terminal of the communication device to which the external device is connected. Accordingly, it is possible to operate the external device in the mode which is desired by a user through the movement of the terminal to which the external device or the plug of the cable is connected.
