  • Patent number: 7052061
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed including a first device which includes a first stick having a first tip, a second device which includes a second stick having a second tip, and a third device which includes a first hollow tube in which a spring is located. The first and second devices may be connected to the third device so that the first and second sticks can pivot with respect to the third device. In a rest state, the spring causes the first stick to be separated from the second stick so that the first tip and the second tip do not contact each other. The first stick and the second stick can be pressed together into a compressed state, so that the first and second sticks pivot with respect to the third device, the spring is compressed by the first and second devices, and the first and second tips come into contact with each other.

  • Publication number: 20040248715
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed which may be used as an exercise device comprising a first member, a second member, a third member, and a base. The first member and the second member may be rigidly attached to the base, substantially perpendicular to the base. The first member and the second member may be gripped by an individual. The third member may be rigidly attached to the base so that the third member lies above the base substantially parallel to the base. The present invention in one or more embodiments also includes a method comprising gripping the first and second members with an individual's hands, standing on the third member which is rigidly suspended at a location over the base, and flexing a body part while standing on the third member.

  • Patent number: 6263781
Abstract: A method and assembly is provided to mix solids with a liquid in the preparation of a beverage. The assembly includes a disposable cup receptacle with an open top end. On the interior of the cup receptacle a ridge is positioned a predetermined distance below the open top end. A solid beverage flavorant, such as coffee or tea is placed in the cup receptacle. A disposable filter insert is positionable within the cup receptacle and contains a filter screen that is water permeable, yet blocks the solid beverage flavorant. The filter insert is placed into the cup receptacle after the solid beverage flavorant has been added to the cup receptacle. The filter insert is configured to engage the ridge of the interior of the cup receptacle, thereby retaining the filter insert in place over the solid beverage flavorant. Water is then poured into the cup receptacle through the filter insert. The water mixes with the solid beverage flavorant and produces the desired beverage.

  • Patent number: 5367711
Abstract: A protective work glove defines a first enclosure integrally extending from a palm portion of the glove and defining pathways therein the middle and index fingers. Between such fingers is secured a rigid body proportioned in height to at least the height of the finger pathways and extending in length from the knuckle to beyond the tips of the finger of the user. The protective work glove also includes a second enclosure integrally extending from the palm portion in which there are defined therein pathways for the ring and pinkie fingers. Between said pathways is provided a rigid body portioned in height to at least the height of the finger pathways and extending from the knuckle to beyond the fingertips of the user.

  • Patent number: 4622773
Abstract: A baitless fishing lure for use in catching large ocean-going fish. The lure is armed with an explosive cartridge for incapacitating the fish by means of a drugged projectile or killing the fish with a bullet-like projectile. The lure is adapted for trolling and comprises a barrel having pivoted hooks extending therefrom adjacent the muzzle end through which the cartridge is fired. The cartridge is fired by the independent action of an internal hammer assembly acting on a firing pin assembly, the hammer being manually cocked by a removable cocking assembly to a trigger assembly that in turn is activated by the fisherman only if the fish is actually hooked.
