  • Patent number: 9257213
Abstract: A dielectric insulation medium including sulphur hexafluoride (SF6) and/or tetrafluoro methane (CF4), in a mixture with at least one further component being an at least partially fluorinated fluoroketone.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 15, 2013
Date of Patent: February 9, 2016
    Assignee: ABB TECHNOLOGY AG
Inventors: Mathias Ingold, Thomas Alfred Paul, Javier Mantilla, Oliver Cossalter, Judith Kessler, Navid Mahdizadeh
  • Patent number: 8847095
Abstract: A high voltage switching device includes a current interruption assembly having at least one vacuum chamber, a fixed contact assembly having a first fixed contact and a second fixed contact positioned inside the vacuum chamber, and first and second movable-contact assemblies including a first movable contact and a second movable contact, respectively. A single mechanism actuates the first and second movable-contact assemblies between a first position and second position. In the first position, the first and second movable contacts are electrically coupled with the first and second fixed contacts, respectively. And in the second position, the first and second moveable contacts are electrically separated the same. The first movable contact and the second movable contact move, along a reference axis, one towards the other or away from the other based on the actuating mechanism.

    Assignee: ABB Research Ltd.
Inventors: Lise Donzel, Judith Kessler, Alexey Sokolov, Markus Abplanalp, Davide Riboni, Roberto Cameroni
  • Patent number: 8709303
Abstract: A dielectric insulation medium including a hydrofluoro monoether, the hydrofluoro monoether containing at least three carbon atoms. The insulation medium according has high insulation capabilities, in particular a high dielectric strength, and at the same time a low GWP. The invention further includes an insulation medium which is chemically and thermally stable also at temperatures above 140° C., which is non-toxic or has a low toxicity level, and which in addition is non-corrosive and non-explosive.

  • Patent number: 6584430
Abstract: A system for monitoring the state and performance of an analysis device, such as a capillary electrophoresis instrument. The system includes software for operating the analysis device and system management software for monitoring the device, generating a report on the state of the device and selecting an appropriate response based on this report. The response can include altering the function of one or more parts of the device, or signaling the need for a repair to be performed, for example.
