Abstract: A method to enable faster invocation of functions without slowing data entry. Key presses are processed so that the symbols and letters are entered into the text as usual, while allowing the typist to perform special functions by using common key presses in sequences that don't occur during regular typing. In one embodiment, the typist can correct an error in the last word typed with a single press of the semicolon key, rather than having to press the backspace key multiple times.
