Abstract: A child restraint device is provided for limiting the movement of a child in sand, such as at a beach or in a sandbox. The device employs a flexible sack of a size adapted to accommodate the legs and lower torso of a child. An elastic band is located at the mouth of the sack and a strip of VELCRO fastening material is secured externally about the mouth of the sack. A laterally expansive, annular apron is provided with a central opening to receive the mouth of the sack. The apron has a mating VELCRO fastening strip which encircles the central opening and which is releasably securable to the VELCRO strip at the mouth of the sack. A stiff, circular rim is provided at the outer perimeter of the apron to hold the apron extended and in an annular shape.
