Publication number: 20250057558Abstract: A medical instrument (1) includes a hollow rod (2), at the distal end (3) of which a tool carrier (4) can be secured by a first fastening mechanism (5), and the proximal end (6) of which can be secured to an operating unit (8) by a second fastening mechanism (7). In order to create a medical instrument (1) of which the fastening mechanism (5, 7) for the detachable rod connections is easy to handle during manufacture and assembly while ensuring a secure hold, it is proposed that at least the first fastening mechanism (5) for connecting the tool carrier (4) to the distal end (3) of the rod (2) is configured as a mechanical latching connection having at least one resilient element.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 21, 2022Publication date: February 20, 2025Inventors: Janosz SCHNEIDER, Daniel KÄRCHER, Robin MERZ, Sven SCHNEIDER, Tobias UNGER, Dominik LÄNGLE, Judith PÖNISCH

Patent number: 11977551Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for providing a natural, pen-and-paper user experience that harnesses cutting edge artificial intelligence and machine learning to enhance user interactions with data in a suite of software applications. The pen-and-paper user experience may mimic the time-honored human tradition of writing with pen and paper, allowing users to work in an intuitive, productive, familiar fashion. The user experience may automatically retrieve objects, e.g., data, charts, tables, graphs, etc. from backend systems and display the objects in the user experience. The user experience may allow users to provide additional natural language directly on or around the objects and update the displayed results accordingly.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 2018Date of Patent: May 7, 2024Assignee: SAP SEInventors: Philip Miseldine, Judith Schneider, Sebastian Werner, Margo Lutes, Gergana Savova, Niels Hebling, Normen Rosch

Patent number: 11941063Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and device embodiments for implementing semantic discovery. An embodiment operates by retrieving a plurality of entities from a database instance. A semantic graph representation of the plurality of entities is generated within a graphical user interface. Context information is received from a user. A focus node is determined from the plurality of nodes using the context information. A semantic context of the focus node is determined, wherein the semantic context includes the focus node, a subset of the plurality of nodes, and subset of the plurality of edges. Responsive to the receiving, a visual indication of the semantic context is displayed within the graphical user interface.Type: GrantFiled: April 23, 2020Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: SAP SEInventors: Judith Schneider, Christian Grail, Joachim Fiess, Guido Wagner, Johanna Wittig

Patent number: 11531673Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for providing a natural, pen-and-paper user experience that harnesses cutting edge artificial intelligence and machine learning to enhance user interactions with data in a suite of software applications. The pen-and-paper user experience may mimic the time-honored human tradition of writing with pen and paper, allowing users to work in an intuitive, productive, familiar fashion, while incorporating artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to interpret a user's natural language and other pen-strokes in order to better interpret a user's natural language and resolve ambiguity in user inputs. A pen-and-paper-based user experience may be extended and enhanced to allow a user to interact with a suite of applications, a launchpad, a key performance indicator tool, a digital boardroom, or other application using the same pen-and-paper-based design paradigm.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 2018Date of Patent: December 20, 2022Assignee: SAP SEInventors: Philip Miseldine, Judith Schneider, Sebastian Werner, Margo Lutes, Gergana Savova, Niels Hebling, Normen Rosch

Patent number: 11347749Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product embodiment related to a digital paper-based interaction to system data. An embodiment operates by receiving a written instruction from a user; analyzing the written instruction to determine a user intent and one or more parameters; retrieving a set of data from a data application; rendering a representation of the set of data in the user experience; receiving a second written instruction from the user in response to a condition in the representation of the set of data; deriving a conclusion based on the written instruction and the second written instruction; building a flow comprising a sequence of actions undertaken, by the user experience, in response to a user action; and adding the flow to a knowledge base.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 2018Date of Patent: May 31, 2022Assignee: SAP SEInventors: Philip Miseldine, Judith Schneider, Sebastian Werner, Margo Lutes, Gergana Savova, Niels Hebling, Normen Rosch

Patent number: 11205296Abstract: Rendering multi-dimensional data in a polyhedron, such as a cube, in a 3D environment allows for the ease of visualization of, and interaction with, the underlying data. The approaches herein allow for 3D manipulation of records within the underlying data by filtering the records across elements of a particular dimension. These records may be filtered by physically grabbing a ‘drawer’—a slice of data within the polyhedron—and removing the drawer to a separate space. That drawer then represents all of the underlying records filtered by that slice, and can be further manipulated by additional filtering, or by merging multiple drawers together.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2019Date of Patent: December 21, 2021Assignee: SAP SEInventors: Christian Grail, Joachim Fiess, Tatjana Borovikov, Judith Schneider, Manfred Johann Pauli, Gisbert Loff, Hanswerner Dreissigacker, Klaus Herter, Hans-Juergen Richstein, Ian Robert Taylor

Patent number: 5427790Abstract: A process for producing a triglyceride mix free from components hampering further processing from a vegetable oil as a starting material, which is cooled and then separated into a predominantly solid and a predominantly liquid phase. The vegetable oil used as starting material is one in which a predetermined reactive fatty acid predominates in the fatty acid pattern with a content of at least about 80%. The cooling temperature of the cooling step is so adjusted that the particularly hard to solidify or readily soluble triglycerides in the starting material remain at least substantially liquid or in solution. In one embodiment, the solid phase obtained after the first separation step is then dissolved and cooled in a second cooling step to a temperature different from an initial temperature step at which the easier to solidify or less soluble triglycerides bearing less reactive groups separate out.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 1993Date of Patent: June 27, 1995Assignee: Dr. Frische GmbHInventors: Rainer Frische, Judith Schneider, Erika Jager, Jurgen Volkheimer, Michaela Kramer
