  • Publication number: 20230076385
Abstract: A detection kit suitable for detecting a target in a sample is provided. The detection kit includes a syringe, a first reaction container, a second reaction container, and a plurality of fluorescent substances. The syringe is loaded with first organic solvent. The first reaction container is connected to the syringe and is loaded with the sample. The second reaction container is connected to the first reaction container and is loaded with second organic solvent. The fluorescent substances are dispersed in the second organic solvent and emit fluorescence. When the target in the sample is dissolved in the first organic solvent and reacts with the fluorescent substances in the second organic solvent, the fluorescence emitted by the fluorescent substances is quenched.

  • Publication number: 20100130129
Abstract: Described is a WLAN/BT system with improved compatibility. It employs an adaptive algorithm that dynamically optimizes the WLAN data fragmentation size based on the current WLAN data rates such that the fragmented data packets fit the time slots allowed by the BT SCO stream gaps. The algorithm first uses system level information to acquire the concurrent BT traffic types to decide if TDM method needs to be enabled. Then it uses the smoothed WLAN date rate to calculate maximum fragmentation packet size consistent with current overall WLAN traffic.

  • Patent number: 7420195
Abstract: Methods for remotely detecting a gun muzzle flash, using frequency-optimized detection methods. Small explosive charges are best detected at I/R and visible wavelengths, using optical detectors, whereas large explosive charges may also be detected with antennas. Details of the time course and spectral properties of the flash can be used to distinguish gun muzzle flashes from other radiation.

  • Patent number: 6937570
Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus for maintaining the status of communications between a wireless client and a content source is presented herein. During periods where the wireless link at the wireless client has deteriorated, a wireless content switch prevents timers at the content source from expiring by transmitting an acknowledgment message to the content source. The acknowledgement also stops the content source from transmitting data packets to the wireless client by indicating a zero window size. Additionally, during the time period that the wireless link to the wireless client is deteriorated, the wireless content switch responds to communications from the content source for the wireless client.

  • Patent number: 6272315
Abstract: Methods for switching a mobile between operation in an mobile satellite system mode and a terrestrial wireless mode. When operating in the terrestrial wireless mode, the mobile terminal will initiate an attempt to switch into the MSS mode when it nears the boundary of the coverage area for a terrestrial wireless system to which it is registered. Conversely, a mobile terminal operating in the MSS mode will regularly attempt to switch into the terrestrial wireless mode. For both, a switch between modes is contingent on the mobile terminal identifying a suitable system for registration therewith upon completing the switch between modes. The criteria for identifying a suitable system for selection purposes include the following: (1) the selected system is available, i.e., the mobile terminal is physically located within a coverage area for the selected system; (2) the mobile terminal is compatible with the selected system; and (3) the selected system is willing to accept the mobile terminal.

  • Patent number: 6240072
Abstract: The satellite communication system uses defocused feed arrays to generate a large number of beams that cover a number of regions. The ground gateways are assigned the same frequency spectrum. The beams are divided into multiple groups and each group is controlled by a different ground gateway. The signals within each group are coherent. Each gateway can then control the set of beams landing on its neighboring territory.

  • Patent number: 6016124
Abstract: A plurality of bit stream formatters formats and codes the digital information signals that are to be transmitted. A symbol generator generates I and Q symbols from the formatted information signals. These symbols are input to the beamforming matrix that is connected directly to the symbol generators. The beamforming matrix generates baseband beam signals from the I and Q symbols. Baseband, pulse-shaping, low-pass filters are connected to the beamforming matrix. The low-pass filters each generate an antenna feed signal from each of the baseband beam signals.
