  • Patent number: 7380657
Abstract: The invention provided a protective brace for a portable device. The protective brace includes a hold part, a first shock-absorbing part and a second shock-absorbing part. The shock-absorbing parts are at opposite sides of the hold part separately; and each of the anti-vibrate part is wider and higher than the hold part in width and height respectively; the hold part, the first shock-absorbing part, and the second shock-absorbing part define a holder for the portable device. The cute frame-like protective brace have the merits of shock absorbing, open-operation and lightweight.

  • Patent number: 5887239
Abstract: An image-related device has an image-medium receiving tray. The tray is designed by a method that enables the tray to control the contouring of sheets of image medium during reception. The tray has a planar surface and a curved surface. The curved surface is designed by selecting a series of transverse and longitudinal curves to define a curved surface that is generally concave in the transverse direction while also sloping upward in the longitudinal direction. The combined concave and sloped shape of the curved surface causes the leading-edge region of the image medium to transversely curl and thereby obtain sufficient rigidity to extend beyond the front end of the tray.

  • Patent number: 5863141
Abstract: In a mounting system for an assembly in a high-frequency desktop device, a chassis element ("element") provides ground. For best ground, features formed in the element near a first edge of the assembly force the two together with no fastener there. Fasteners or other provisions secure the assembly, near its second edge, to the element. The features capture the first edge at installation; the fasteners etc. secure the assembly, near its second edge so that the features pinch the first. In another form of the system (1) first raised shapes formed in the element support the assembly near its first edge; (2) features, also formed in the element next to the first shapes, engage and capture the first edge; (3) second raised shapes, formed in the element, support the assembly near its second edge; and (4) fasteners etc. secure the assembly, near its second edge.

  • Patent number: 5775825
Abstract: The invention protects a printer, scanner, copier and/or FAX machine against shock, particularly during shipping and the like. The system includes side covers, and a subsystem to attach them to a major chassis element. Preferably this subsystem omnidirectionally transfers shock between the covers and the chassis element, and includes a hand-in-glove fit of a portion of the chassis element into each cover, with a snap connector holding the chassis element and covers in the hand-in-glove fit. Also preferably a subsystem is included to attach the covers to a main structural assembly. This subsystem is integrally formed in the covers and main assembly, and takes up at least four degrees of freedom of motion between them.
