Abstract: Method for buffering audio data in optical recording media, and apparatus using such method for reading from and/or writing to optical recording media in case of an error condition (e.g. upon shock or vibration). It comprises the steps of, as audio data is read from a position on the medium prior to a position corresponding to a verified write position in the memory and in case writing to the memory is inhibited; counting the number of samples read; searching for two subsequent markers distant of one frame (to take into account the case where a marker could be corrupted); determining the remaining distance to the verified write position based on the sample count; restarting writing the audio data to the memory when the data read from the medium corresponds to the verified write position.
