Patents by Inventor Juergen Ernst

Juergen Ernst has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 9234836
Abstract: The fiber direction of a carbon fiber material of a test object is detected by means of the polarization direction of light reflected by the test object. If, for example, non-polarized light impinges upon carbon fibers, light reflected by the fibers is polarized in fiber direction.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 15, 2012
Date of Patent: January 12, 2016
Assignee: Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft zur Foerderung der Angewandten Forschung e.V.
Inventors: Juergen Ernst, Stephan Junger, Wladimir Tschekalinskij
  • Patent number: 8593562
Abstract: A refraction at a suitably structured surface for example with an arrangement of the same between image plane and mapping optics is used to realize on the one hand a desired aliasing filtering or spatial low-pass filtering on the image plane wherein on the other hand the manufacturing of such structured surfaces may be realized in a cost-effective way. In addition to that, the plate thickness except for the amplitude of the surface structure and aspects of the stability of the plate is of no importance for handling the same, so that the integration into optical systems is facilitated.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 1, 2010
Date of Patent: November 26, 2013
Assignee: Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft zur Foerderung der Angewandten Forschung E.V.
Inventors: Juergen Ernst, Michael Schoeberl, Alexander Oberdoerster

  • Publication number: 20090316113
Abstract: A capturing apparatus includes an optical input, a fiber optic face plate arranged at the optical input, an image sensor, and optics for mapping a real image at an optical output of the fiber optic face plate onto the image sensor in a predetermined scale.
