  • Patent number: 7632171
Abstract: In a grinding machine with a grinding means for machining a workpiece surface which can be moved in a direction of conveyance relative to the grinding means and is arranged in a machining plane, wherein the grinding means has a large number of grinding heads with grinding elements (8) rotating about a respective shaft, and the grinding heads can be moved by means of an endlessly revolving transporting means (1) in a grinding region (3) by deflection about deflection rollers via rectilinear portions in a grinding region at an angle to the direction of conveyance, improved grinding results are facilitated as a result of increased degrees of freedom in the setting of the grinding parameters without high costs for drive motors if a drive means (13), with which the grinding elements (8) are driven in rotation by a common motor provided for rotationally driving these grinding elements (8), is provided for at least one group of a plurality of grinding elements (8), and in that the drive means (13) consists of a flex

  • Patent number: 7381115
Abstract: A processing machine (1) has a machine frame (2) and a processing element (3) arranged so as to be movable relative thereto via a drive shaft (5). The drive shaft (5) is coupled with the machine frame (2) and the processing element (3) by means of a floating-bearing arrangement (13). The floating-bearing arrangement (13) has at least two rolling-contact bearings (16, 19, 22, 24), with a first rolling-contact bearing (19, 24), coupled with the drive shaft (5), and a second rolling-contact bearing (16, 22), arranged on the machine frame (2), and a common connecting bearing shell (15, 25, 26). The connecting bearing shell (15, 25, 26) supports the rolling-contact bodies of the first and second rolling-contact bearings (16, 19, 22, 24) and is driven.

  • Patent number: 6290570
Abstract: A belt grinding machine has a grinding belt continuously guided about at least two deflection rollers 2, a pressure shoe 3 that presses the grinding belt 1 against a workpiece 8 by a contact pressure apparatus. The belt grinding machine also has a contact pressure control that allows a contact pressure force to be set. The uniformity and reproducibility of the grinding results are improved by a detector arrangement 6, 7 that senses the adjustment of the pressure shoe 3 and an evaluation device that influences the contact pressure control as a function of the sensed adjustment of the pressure shoe 3.

  • Patent number: 5789829
Abstract: A motor control system with a motor having an essentially cylindrical casing and a control system having a processor and power control elements. The control system generates the driving current for the motor based on an external command signal fed to the control system, transmits the driving current to the motor via a line, and receives signals which indicate the status of the motor. The control system is mounted directly on a housing. The housing is connected to the casing by narrow webs bridging the air interspace formed between the casing of the motor and the housing of the control system, thereby mitigating mechanical and thermal influences of the casing of the motor and the housing.

  • Patent number: 5127195
Abstract: A profile grinding machine has at least two tool holders which are fixed in a frame and on each of which is fixed a grinding tool, for machining workpieces transported past the profile grinding machine in a working plane. The tool holders can be arranged in various angular positions, and their tools complement each other to give the desired profile shape. The advantages of a uniform grinding operation can be achieved in spite of the use of a plurality of tools by arranging the tool holders at essentially the same height in the transporting direction and by the tools of two neighboring tool holders forming the desired profile shape by a complementarily toothed design of the mutually facing edges, one engaging in the other.

  • Patent number: 4839994
Abstract: A belt grinding machine is disclosed that includes a pressure bar which has a plurality of pressure shoes arranged next to one another transversely relative to the conveying direction of the workpiece to be machined, and in which each pressure shoe has assigned to it its own pressing-on device actuable as a function of workpiece parameters, the pressing on force of the pressing-on device being controlled by means of a signal-processing unit taking into account the workpiece parameters and local and time data of the workpiece transport operation. A simple and comprehensive detection of workpiece parameters is carried out with the use of a light source which illuminates the surface of the workpiece linearly transversely relative to the conveying direction.
