  • Patent number: 7537834
Abstract: A particle composite including carrier particles having an average diameter of less than 5 ?m. The particle composite is surrounded by a layer made of oxidic material having an irregular surface. Particles, which are made of an active material and which have an average diameter of less than 1 ?m are applied to the layer. The particle composite can be used as a filling substance in polymers and enables the content of active material for comparable properties to be reduced or improves the properties of filled materials, e.g. resistance to aging of elastomers.

  • Patent number: 7018223
Abstract: A connecting device includes first and second housing parts which are rotatable relative to one another and are coupled together to define a space therebetween. At least one flexible cable is provided in the space defined by the housing parts. Each cable includes first and second end sections which are configured to be rolled and unrolled in a spiral or helix on associated contact surfaces of the housing parts, respectively. The end sections normally extend in opposite directions from each other circumferentially around the housing parts so that a U-shaped turning area at which cable movement reverses is formed in the space defined by the housing parts. Magnetic areas are arranged on at least one of each cable, the first housing part, and the second housing part to cause the end sections of each cable to removably adhere to the respective contact surfaces of the housing parts.

  • Patent number: 4967706
Abstract: An internal-combustion engine of the injection type comprises a cylinder (1) which is provided with an inlet channel (4) with inlet valve (5). An inlet tube (2) with fuel injector (3) is fixed on this inlet channel. A heating element with a heat sink (11, 12), electrical resistance means (16) and current supply means (14, 17, 18, 20) projects into the inlet channel of the cylinder. In order to avoid cold spot problems, the heating element (11 to 16) is not fitted in a thermally insulated manner, and is integrated in a plate (6) which is clamped between the inlet tube (2) and the head of the cylinder (1). The electrical resistance means (16) are provided in a chamber (11) whose top face forms part of the heat sink. A cylindrically curved wall (12) preferably connects to the chamber (11) and is connected to this plate by means of material bridges (10).
