  • Patent number: 6960922
Abstract: An apparatus for monitoring a sliding contact element in an electrical rotating machine, in particular a generator, includes a holder for the sliding contact element and a sensor for detection of a state variable of the sliding contact element. An evaluation unit is also provided for evaluation of the state variable which is detected by the sensor, with signals from the sensor being transmitted to the evaluation unit without using wires. The wire-free transmission makes the apparatus particularly maintenance-friendly.

Date of Patent: November 1, 2005
    Assignee: Siemens Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventor: Juergen Klaar
  • Patent number: 6781261
Abstract: Arrangement of internally cooled electrical conductors, in particular for a generator rotor. A number of internally cooled conductors in each case having a longitudinal conductor and a transverse conductor connected to it, the longitudinal conductors and the transverse conductors being respectively arranged at least approximately parallel and a small distance apart. Advantageous cooling in terms of fluid mechanics is achieved by a cooling duct of a longitudinal conductor of one conductor being connected to a cooling duct of a transverse conductor of an adjacent conductor.

  • Patent number: 6724099
Abstract: In order to achieve efficient utilization of components required for the generator operation, during the run-up of a turboset having a gas turbine, a generator and also a rectifier exciter, the latter is operated as an asynchronous generator, via which the rotor winding of the generator is supplied with direct current. As a result, neither slip rings nor a separate starting motor are required for the start-up of the turboset.

  • Publication number: 20030163224
Abstract: An energy supply network includes at least one power station plant, at least one energy supplier, at least one energy infeed node, a number of energy distribution nodes and a number of consumers, which are supplied with electrical energy via the energy distribution nodes. At least some of the energy distribution nodes each include a power measuring instrument, via which the summated electrical power taken by all those consumers which are supplied with electrical energy via the respective energy distribution node, can be established. Further, a method makes use of previous and present consumption data in order to forecast a power demand as accurately as possible and to arrange for an appropriate feeding-in of electrical energy into the infeed node by the power station plant.

  • Patent number: 6466032
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and apparatus for identification of the disconnection of a current protection device, in particular of a protection device which is connected in series with a semiconductor component and is arranged on a rotating shaft. According to the invention, electromagnetic pulses which are produced during disconnection of the current protection device are received by an antenna which is arranged in the vicinity of the protection device.
