  • Publication number: 20240025257
Abstract: A method of operating an information system of a vehicle, in which a processor subsystem of a system on a chip (SoC) of the information system of the vehicle executes a system partition of the SoC and a vehicle infotainment partition (IVI) of the SoC. A functional system of the system partition produces a graphical operating element and locates the graphical operating element in a composition plane of a main compositor of the information system, which plane is at the front relative to a user's sight line. A touch-sensitive display screen which is functionally connected to the SoC is arranged centrally in the vehicle to display a display content which is provided by the main compositor and includes the graphical operating element. The described examples relate to an information system for a vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11509710
Abstract: A method is disclosed for operating a motor vehicle having a computing device providing computing power, a communication device for communicating with a vehicle-external cloud provided with a server device, and a control device, wherein the control device performs an availability check indicating the existence of free computing power available from the motor vehicle for executing a computing task provided by a currently-reachable cloud as determined by the motor vehicle's communication device. From within a list of currently-reachable clouds, a target cloud to which the motor vehicle's computing power must be provided is selected either manually by user input or at least partially automatically based on availability parameters. Once a target cloud is selected, a communication link with the target cloud is established and the motor vehicle is logged into the target cloud as a provider of computing power. A motor vehicle for performing the method is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20220357970
Abstract: The invention relates to a computer system for a motor vehicle, having a processor apparatus with a plurality of real processor cores in the form of circuits, a plurality of virtual machines, each of which in each case has at least one virtual processor core for executing software programs, a hypervisor apparatus that is designed to run the virtual machines simultaneously on the processor apparatus and, for this purpose, to exclusively assign the real processor cores to the virtual machines in accordance with a predetermined assignment scheme. The invention makes provision for the hypervisor apparatus to contain a hypervisor scheduler which provides, in addition to the assignment scheme, at least one further assignment scheme which provides, a further exclusive assignment of the real processor cores to the virtual machines, and for the hypervisor scheduler to be designed to switch between the assignment schemes on the basis of a demand signal.

  • Patent number: 11383600
Abstract: A power consumption of a screen can be lowered while a motor vehicle is traveling, based on a line of vision of a user of the motor vehicle. An image of a surrounding area of the motor vehicle is captured, and a line of vision of the user of the motor vehicle is determined. The screen is switched to a normal mode of operation or a power-saving mode based on the determined line of vision. The power consumption of the screen in the power-saving mode is less than a power consumption of the screen in the normal mode of operation. The image of the surrounding area is displayed by use of the screen, at least while the screen is operated in the normal mode of operation.
