Abstract: A system and method that enable a user to establish a criteria for a plurality of user roles associated with a system of processing an authoring assignment. The system and method may also enable the user to customize the criteria. The system and method may enable a user to assign a role to a user and perform a function on the authoring assignment associated with that role. The system and method may maintain a history of each function performed on the authoring assignment by the user. The roles may enable a user to request, create, modify, approve, reject or publish an authoring assignment or any combination thereof. The system and method may enable a user to modify a role assigned to a user and assign a role to a user based on a function to be performed by that user.

Abstract: A system and method are provided that enable a user to modify an illustration using scaleable vector graphics. A scaleable vector graphics layer may be superimposed on a graphic, drawing or other illustration. A user may provide markings on the scaleable vector graphics layer such that the markings appear to be on the illustration itself. The markings may be moved, altered or otherwise modified on the scaleable vector layer without altering the illustration. The markings may include pre-defined symbols that the user may select and position on the scaleable vector graphics layer. Positional coordinates of the scaleable vector graphics layer may be determined to enable the user to create a composite illustration or line drawing that includes the original illustration and the scaleable vector graphics layer.

Abstract: A system and method that manage workflow of an authoring assignment. An authoring assignment may be created, forwarded, approved, rejected, and published. A history of functions performed on the authoring assignment and information relating to those functions is maintained. Each stage of the assignment may be tracked and stored. Notifications regarding the assignment may be forwarded to one or more users associated with the authoring assignment. Reports that provide information relating to an authoring assignment may be generated.

Abstract: A system and method of processing an authoring assignment enable an authoring assignment to be requested, forwarded, created, modified, accepted, rejected, and published electronically. A request that an authoring assignment be completed may be created and communicated electronically using an authoring assignment processing system. The request may be received by one or more users that may process the assignment. A completed assignment may be forwarded for approval to the user that requested the assignment. The requestor may approve or reject the assignment. A notification may be transmitted, for example, via electronic mail, text message, phone call, facsimile, etc. to the user that created the assignment notifying the user that the assignment has been approved or rejected. The assignment may be forwarded to another user, published, or have another function performed thereon. The system and method may maintain a history of actions performed on the assignment and data relating to each of the actions.
