  • Patent number: 11957999
Abstract: A backflushing filter having an inlet, an outlet, and a drain; a filter that divides a housing into an inlet chamber that is connected to the inlet and an outlet chamber that is connected to the outlet; a backflushing device having a suction element arranged so that it is able to rotate around the filter on the inlet side of the housing with at least one suction opening that is oriented in the suction direction toward the filter for filter-cleaning purposes; a backflushing duct connected to a suction opening and the drain; and a rotating device which drives the rotational movement of the suction element around the filter when a pressure drop occurs in the backflushing duct; wherein when the pressure drop in the backflushing duct occurs, the rotating device drives the rotational movement of the suction element by the suction direction of the suction opening that is inclined relative to the radial direction of the suction element.

  • Publication number: 20230167457
Abstract: The present invention is in the field of recombinant biotechnology, in particular in the field of protein expression and nucleotide production. The invention generally relates to systems and processes that are suitable or comprise a two stage production process, in which the growth of the bacterial host cell is spatiotemporally separated from the production of the protein or nucleic acid of interest. Accordingly, the present invention relates to a system and a process for use in continuous production of a protein of interest or a nucleotide of interest by a bacterial host cell.

  • Patent number: 11046963
Abstract: The present invention is in the field of recombinant biotechnology, in particular in the field of protein expression. The invention generally relates to methods of increasing the expression level of a protein of interest of a bacterial host cell in a production process. The invention relates particularly to improving the capacity of a bacterial host cell to express a protein of interest by expressing a phage protein during the production process which inhibits growth of the bacterial host cell. Decoupling growth of the bacterial host cell of manufacturing of the protein of interest during the production process reduces (i) the metabolic burden, (ii) oxygen demand, (iii) metabolic heat development, and (iv) avoids stress response caused by heterologous protein expression and thereby increases the capacity of a host cell to produce the protein of interest.

  • Publication number: 20110269184
Abstract: Host vector system and methods for plasmid DNA and recombinant protein production. The system allows copy number control of a ColE1 plasmid in E. coli by an RNA molecule that is transcribed from the host's genome and that interacts with plasmid-transcribed RNAI or RNAII. The system can be extended to combine PCN control and antibiotic-free selection.
