  • Patent number: 8772993
Abstract: An electric motor (20) has a stator (30) and a rotor (26). The latter is equipped with a cup-like rotor part (56) and with a ring magnet (60) adhesively bonded therein, which magnet has an outer circumference (61) on which are provided elevations (84) and depressions (86) that extend at least partly in the longitudinal direction of the ring magnet (60). The outer circumference (61) of the ring magnet (60), that faces toward the cup-like rotor part (56) after assembly, is formed with at least one opening or channel (68; 69, 88), extending in a circumferential direction, that is connected to at least a plurality of the flat depressions (86). Positive mechanical engagement between adhesive and ring magnet enhances durability, and discourages any tendency toward relative rotation between the magnet (60) and the cup-like rotor part (56).

  • Patent number: 6292498
Abstract: A method for controlling the emitting-wavelength of a diode-laser or diode-laser array in a diode-laser pumped solid-state laser (DPSS-laser) is disclosed. The DPSS-laser can be controlled, in a light-control mode, to provide constant output-power. Alternatively, the DPSS-laser can be controlled such that a constant current is supplied to the diode-laser. In the light-control mode, diode-laser temperature is periodically varied by a small temperature increment above and below a set temperature, and the diode-laser current required to provide constant DPSS-laser output-power is monitored. A difference in diode-laser current at temperatures higher and lower than the set temperature indicates that the emitting-wavelength of the diode-laser has changed from an optimum value. Changing the diode-laser set temperature to a value at which there is no difference in current at the higher and lower temperatures restores the emitting-wavelength of the diode-laser to the optimum value.

  • Patent number: 5010542
Abstract: A multi-stage switching network in which a plurality of optical binary couplers are symmetrically connected to each other relative to the center line of the switching network and pyramids of the optical binary couplers individually associated to switching network terminals are provided, and every optical binary coupler in said pyramids is unconnected at one of its two light-conducting paths on that side which faces away from the center line of the switching network, and across the center line of the switching network, every binary coupler pyramid is connected in a light-conducting manner to every binary coupler pyramid lying at the other side such that every switching network through-connect path outgoing from a switching network terminal or, respectively, leading to a switching network terminal contains an unconnected light-conducting path of an optical binary coupler when all binary couplers are in the crossed through-connect condition.
