  • Publication number: 20110229731
Abstract: A process for the preparation of aqueous polymer dispersions is described, a vinylaromatic compound, such as, for example, styrene, a conjugated aliphatic diene, such as, for example, butadiene, and an ethylenically unsaturated carbonitrile, such as, for example, acrylonitrile, being copolymerized in an aqueous medium. The copolymerization is effected in the presence of a degraded starch and of free radical initiators. At least part of the monomers differing from ethylenically unsaturated carbonitriles are polymerized before the ethylenically unsaturated carbonitriles are added to the polymerization mixture.

  • Patent number: 7894610
Abstract: The transmission and use of real, i. e. of measured, room impulse responses for the reproduction of sound signals with this room characteristic compatible to the MPEG-4 standard is made possible by inserting impulse responses in multiple successive control parameter fields, especially the params[128] array. A first control parameter field contains information about the number and content of the following fields. For presentation of the sound signals the content of the successive control parameter fields is separated, stored in an additional memory of a node and used during the calculation of the room characteristic.

  • Publication number: 20100313762
Abstract: A system for obtaining oxygen-enriched air from ambient air comprises an absorber moving bed separating unit whose adsorption material binds oxygen and nitrogen to a different degree. To flush out moisture remaining in the moving bed material, it is proposed to connect a useful gas store which comprises the oxygen-enriched air to the inlet of the separating unit at time intervals via a controllable flush valve, and to flush the moisture out of the moving bed material in the useful gas store by means of dry gas. This shortens the start phase which elapses after switching on until steady-state conditions are established.

  • Publication number: 20100196137
Abstract: A regulating system for a gas turbine, in particular an aircraft engine, has devices for blade-tip injection for increasing the compressor stability, these devices being activated as needed. The regulating system has devices for active clearance control, preferably in the high-pressure compressor, with which the radial clearance in the high-pressure compressor is kept in an optimum operating range, and the regulating system has a shared engine regulator for both devices. The technical problems of the prior art are avoided through the present invention, and an improved regulating system for a gas turbine, in particular an aircraft engine, is made available for active stabilization of the compressor.

  • Publication number: 20100187815
Abstract: A hose fitting and a method for fastening a hose fitting to a hose end section are disclosed. The hose fitting includes a connecting element and holding sleeve. The connecting element includes an insert section configured to be inserted into the hose end section. The holding sleeve includes a fixing section with a fixing part to engage a fixing counter part of the connecting element to fix the holding sleeve to the connecting element. A holding section of the holding sleeve may include radially inward projecting holding projections. The fixing and holding sections may be connected via an intermediate section arranged therebetween. In the fastened state, where the hose fitting is fastened to the hose end section, the holding projection may intrude into an outer sheathing of the hose end section. A clearance can be created between the hose end and the fixing part in the fastened state.

  • Patent number: 7753312
Abstract: A fiber reinforced strip is adhesively bonded to an outwardly facing surface of a reinforcing frame and to an inwardly facing outer skin surface. Such a strip position reduces crack propagation in a lightweight structure particularly in the outer skin adhesively bonded to the reinforcing frame through the strip. For this purpose the fiber reinforced strip is interposed between the outer skin and the frame and adhesively bonded to the outer skin and to the frame. The strip has reinforcing fibers extending in parallel to each other or the reinforcing fibers are woven into a fabric embedded in a synthetic adhesive bonding material. The embedding of the parallel fibers or of the fiber fabric in the bonding material is performed either prior to the bonding or during the bonding of the strip to the outer skin and to the reinforcing frame.

  • Publication number: 20100167906
Abstract: The process of making synthetic silica glass occurs in a combustion chamber of a muffle furnace. It includes producing a gas flow containing a fuel, an oxidizer, and a silicon compound that is converted by flame hydrolysis and/or by chemical oxidation to SiO2 particles, and depositing them on a target to form a roll-shaped silica glass body. The combustion chamber is provided with a gas inlet and a gas outlet arranged at opposite ends of the combustion chamber, which widens from the inlet to the outlet. The gas flow is produced by a central nozzle for the silicon compound, a first concentric ring-shaped nozzle for the oxidizer, and a second concentric ring-shaped nozzle for the fuel. The process is characterized by a ratio of areas of ring gaps of the ring-shaped nozzles of from 1:4 to 1:6.1. The apparatus for the process is also part of the invention.
