  • Patent number: 5803768
Abstract: The invention is directed to a plug-type connector for backplane wirings, composed of a blade connector portion and a metal spring clip portion. Individual contact springs are surrounded by electrically conductive shielding plates that are connected to contactings applied in an intermediate grid both at the backplane side as well as at the printed circuit board assembly side, the contactings being charged with an appropriate potential. In order to obtain a comparatively simple structure of the spring clip portion of improved simplicity, the spring clip housing (1-8) is composed of an electrically conductive material, whereby the contact springs (35-37) are arranged insulated therefrom in receptacle chambers (9-16).

  • Patent number: 5632652
Abstract: The invention is directed to plug-type connectors for backplane wirings composed of blade connector and spring clip, whereby the individual contact springs are surrounded by electrically conductive shieldings that are connected to contactings applied in the intermediate grid both at the backplane side as well as at the assembly side, said contactings being charged with an appropriate potential. The invention discloses various possibilities for contacting between the shielding in the spring clip and the printed circuit boards carrying the shield potential.

  • Patent number: 5565654
Abstract: The invention is directed to a printed circuit board arrangement for plug-type connections composed of a blade connector and spring clip, whereby the individual contact passages are surrounded by electrically conductive shield plates that are connected to contactings carrying shield potential that are attached both at the backplane side as well as at the assembly side, and whereby both the contact blades and contact springs as well as the contactings are contacted and secured with press-in technique in the printed circuit boards fashioned as multi-layer multilayers. In order to create an adequate interconnect lead-through width between the contactings, the shield potential in the printed circuit board arrangement of the invention is conducted in a separate shield printed circuit board (3) that is electrically separated from the multilayer (1) by an insulating foil (2).

  • Patent number: 5392194
Abstract: The invention is directed to a coding device for electrical assemblies that can be inserted parallel to one another into a module frame and that are contacted via plug devices attached at the back to a wiring backplane.A coding flange having three quadratic openings arranged in a right angle pattern is arranged on the wiring backplane between the guard rails, and a corresponding coding housing likewise provided with three quadratic openings arranged in a right angle pattern is arranged on the assembly next to the plug connector. Coding pins can be selectively oriented within the openings by 90.degree. turns, whereby the free ends of said coding pins are fashioned as tongues having a rectangular cross-section, and the area of the cross-section of the tongues corresponds to half the area of the cross-section of the quadratic openings.

  • Patent number: 5307242
Abstract: In order to achieve a partial shielding with different shielding potentials, the shieldings per plug are composed of angled-off shields at the solder side and/or at the component side of a printed circuit board, whereby the length of the shields corresponds to the single or, respectively, multiple length of an individual segment of the spring contact housing of the plug. For fastening the shields to the module, the shields have hooks that are engageable into entry funnels of the outer spring chambers of the spring contact housing and also have press-in pins with which they are secured to the printed circuit board. Also, the shields comprise spring sections in the region of the contact blades, the spring sections being outwardly arced, separated from one another by slots and extending parallel to the contact blades.

  • Patent number: 5273457
Abstract: The invention is directed to a connector arrangement between a coax cable and the blades of a wiring backplane, wherein the contact blade carrying an electrical signal is surrounded by contact blades connected to the shielding potential. The connector arrangement includes a plug receiving an inner contact spring connected to an inner conductor of a coax cable with the contact spring receiving the signal-carrying contact blade and the braided shielding of the coax cable is connected to the contact blades lying at the shielding potential via a resilient spring collar having outwardly bent spring tongues in one end of the plug.

  • Patent number: 4652066
Abstract: An electric assembly is provided with a multi-row plug strip which is connected to a carrier plate arranged in the extension zone of a central row of contacts. The connector elements of the outer row of contact elements are bent into the region of the next row, around the end of the circuit board, and are inserted into bores of the circuit board from the same side as the connector elements of the other rows. The two outer rows of receiving chambers which are adjacent to the circuit board are equipped with contact elements in alternation and offset relative to one another. By means of the invention the circuit board is displaced inwards away from the spacing boundary. The plug forces are thus transferred to the circuit board in a less one-sided fashion.
