  • Patent number: 10173479
Abstract: A method and a device locate wheels of a vehicle, according to which method at least one wheel has wheel electronics. In accordance with the method, a signal is received on the vehicle side by the wheel electronics, which signal allows conclusions to be drawn about a point in time at which the wheel assumed a first rotation angle position. The signal contains a plurality of packets. At least one time interval between the packets is determined, and at least one estimated value for the at least one time interval is provided on the basis of the at least one determined time interval.

  • Publication number: 20170355234
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for determining a wheel load (WL) acting on a tire (1) of a vehicle, comprising: a) determining a footprint (L) of the tire (1), b) receiving a tire information (ti) that identifies a type of the tire (1) and/or characterizes physical properties of the tire (1) as such, c) receiving tire operation conditions (toe) based on a measurement, d) selecting one of a plurality of predetermined calculation models (mod(ti)) based on the received tire information (ti), wherein each of the predetermined calculation models (mod(ti)) defines the wheel load (WL) as a function of the footprint (L) and the tire operation conditions (toe) for a respective tire type and/or respective physical properties of the tire (1) as such, e) calculating the wheel load (WL) based on the determined footprint (L) and the received tire operation conditions (toe), using the selected calculation model (mod(ti)). Further, a corresponding system (10) for determining a wheel load (WL) is proposed.

  • Patent number: 9555671
Abstract: In a method for determining identifiers of wheel units and positions relative to the vehicle of the wheels on which the wheel units are fitted, the vehicle is equipped with a speed sensor for each wheel and elements for transmitting at a predetermined angular position of the corresponding wheel about its axis a message including the identifier of the wheel unit. A central processing unit receives the message and information from the speed sensors. The method includes a) counting, for each identifier, of a number “nt” of receptions of the identifier, b) statistical processing of the numbers “nt” to determine candidate identifiers of a wheel unit of the vehicle, until the number of candidate identifiers at least equals the number of wheels, and c) determining that a candidate identifier is the identifier of a wheel unit if the candidate identifier meets a predetermined criterion.

  • Patent number: 8909420
Abstract: A system for monitoring a fill level of a plurality of tires of a vehicle includes a situation detecting unit set up for detecting a situation in which adaptation of a fill level of at least one of the tires of the vehicle is expected. The system further includes a fill level adaptation assistant set up for autonomously assisting a user of the vehicle during the adaptation of the fill level of the at least one tire when the situation is detected.

  • Patent number: 7397352
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for localising the position of at least two emission units, especially for monitoring at least one parameter for a plurality of wheels pertaining to a motor vehicle. The average power of the reception signals of a central evaluation and control unit (5) is detected. The aim of the invention is to improve the reliability of a correct localisation. To this end, at least two association criteria are used to associate the reception signals or emission units with positions or regions, when the examination of a reliability criterion for the first association criterion does not produce a sufficiently high reliability for the association carried out.

  • Patent number: 6980099
Abstract: The arrangement for monitoring at least one parameter for a number of motor vehicle wheels uses at least one receiver antenna that features a directional characteristic such that at least the signals which are transmitted by detector units located at two different vehicle wheels can be uniquely assigned to the relevant wheel positions as a result of the different receive level. The use of a number of receiver antennas allows either the number of distinguishable detector units to be increased or a redundancy to be created to improve the reliability of the detection.
