  • Publication number: 20200072563
Abstract: A heat exchanger for a motor vehicle may include a plurality of flat tubes for a first medium and two tube bottoms. The plurality of flat tubes may be aligned in a longitudinal direction and stacked spaced apart from one another in a stack direction to form a heat exchanger block. The plurality of flat tubes may each extend into the two tube bottoms. The heat exchanger may also include two guide plates which close the heat exchanger block such that a plurality of flow spaces for a second medium are delimited between the plurality of flat tubes. A plurality of depressions may be disposed in a longitudinal end region of one of the guide plates, may protrude into a respective flow space, and may follow a shape of the adjacent flat tubes area by area such that the at least one guide plate surrounds the plurality of flat tubes.

  • Patent number: 8099956
Abstract: The invention is based on an arrangement of supercharging units (1, 5, 6, 7), which arrangement is to be attached in the construction space of a motor vehicle, for supercharging an internal combustion engine with a fluid (23) comprising charge air and/or exhaust gas, wherein the supercharging units (1, 5, 6, 7) comprise at least one heat exchanger (5, 6, 7) and at least one compressor (1). According to the concept of the invention, the supercharging units (1, 5, 6, 7) are arranged combined in a module (10A, 10B) and, in order for the same to be kept together in the module (10A, 10B), the supercharging units (1, 5, 6, 7) are connected at any rate partially to one another in a fluid-conducting manner, and at least one of the supercharging units (1, 5, 6, 7) is held on a holding structure. This enables the supercharging units to be handled flexibly, simply and nevertheless in a manner saving on construction space and outlay on connection. The invention also leads to a production method.

  • Publication number: 20110040555
Abstract: A system and method generate artistic multimedia representations of user-input texts, spoken or loaded narratives, theatrical scripts, or other linguistic corpus types, via a user interface, or batch interface, by classifying component words, and/or phrases into lexemes and/or parts of speech, and interpreting said classifications to construct playable structures. A database of natural language grammatical rules, a set of media objects, parameters, and rendering directives, and an algorithm facilitate the generation of sequential scenes from grammatical representations, convert user-input texts into playable structures of graphics, sounds, animations, and modifications, where playable structures may be combined to create a scene, or multiple scenes, and may be played in the order of occurrence in the input text as a sequential and timed multimedia representation of the input, and subsequently output, in real-time, or stored in memory for later output, via output devices such as a monitor and/or speakers.

  • Publication number: 20060035622
Abstract: A rescue device has a motion detector and a transceiver that operates either to transmit a locating signal, which can be tracked by others, or to receive and track a locating signal transmitted by another. A control logic circuit suppresses transmission of the locating signal by the transceiver unless a motion signal, generated by the motion detector responsive to the user's movement, indicates that the user has not moved for a predetermined time interval. Thus, the rescue device can transmit the locating signal when the user is motionless, providing notice that the user is immobile and aiding others in locating the user. When the receiver is operating, it guides the user in locating the source of a transmitted locating signal to aid the user in locating an immobilized person or a building exit. An override can be provided to allow transmission of the locating signal regardless of movement.
