  • Patent number: 6620707
Abstract: A heating conductor, in particular for a sensor for determining at least one gas component in the exhaust gases of internal combustion engines. The heating conductor formed from a cermet which contains platinum, at least one metal oxide, and at least two further precious metals. A method for manufacturing the heating conductor by applying a paste containing a platinum powder, a metal oxide powder, and at least two further precious metals, to a ceramic foil and sintering the paste and ceramic foil combination.

  • Publication number: 20020148279
Abstract: The present invention relates to a gas sensor (10) having a metallic housing (12) and being secured via a hollow screw (50) in a measuring opening (56) having a measuring gas, the housing (12) including a collar (51) as the support for the hollow screw (50). A conically shaped surface (54a), with which the gas sensor (10) rests on a conically shaped opposite surface (54b) of measuring opening (56), is provided on the side of housing (12) facing the measuring opening (56). The conically shaped surface (54a) of the housing (12) has an angle a with respect to a longitudinal axis of housing (12) that is less than 60°.

  • Patent number: 6453866
Abstract: An intake system for an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle which includes a first unfiltered air intake (10) which is arranged at a location in the vehicle that is favorable for air intake, and a second unfiltered air intake (11) which is arranged at a location in the vehicle that is protected against road spray and splashes of water. The two unfiltered air intakes (10, 11) each open into a common line (12) which communicates with the internal combustion engine. In the first unfiltered air intake (10) there is a moisture sensor (14) which emits a signal when water enters the first unfiltered air intake (10). This signal actuates a drive member 23 which moves a flap 13 between first and second switching positions. In the first switching position, the flap 13 closes the second unfiltered air intake 11, so that no air can get into line 12 from the second unfiltered air intake 11.

  • Patent number: 6045403
Abstract: A line connector connecting a first electric line which has a first contact connection portion and a second electric line which has a second contact connection portion. The line connector includes an enclosing tube which surrounds the first electric line and which has an end portion. The end portion is embedded in a plastic extrusion coat. The first and second contact connection portions are also provided in the plastic extrusion coat. The line connector also includes a sealing device which is situated on the end portion of the enclosing tube. Furthermore, the line connector includes a clamping device which is encased by the plastic extrusion coat and which radially presses a seal element of the sealing device on the enclosing tube.
