  • Patent number: 6837695
Abstract: A reciprocating refrigerant compressor includes a cylinder block having a cylinder bore, and a compression chamber defined within the cylinder bore. A cylinder head has a low-pressure chamber for receiving refrigerant gas to be drawn into the compression chamber, and is coupled to one end face of the cylinder block. A valve plate is arranged between the compression chamber and the low-pressure chamber, and includes an inlet port for guiding the refrigerant from the low-pressure chamber into the compression chamber. An inlet valve opens and closes the inlet port and has an end whose shape is adapted to a shape of the inlet port. The shape of the inlet port is non-circular, and a portion of an opening edge of the inlet port protrudes into the inlet port. Tangential lines drawn from the protruding portions intersect the opening edge of the inlet port at at least two points.

  • Patent number: 5950520
Abstract: A swash plate compressor includes a plurality of shoes each arranged on a sliding surface of a swash plate, for relative rotation with respect to a circumference of the swash plate as the drive shaft rotates, a retainer mounted on the swash plate in a relatively rotatable manner with respect to the swash plate, for retaining the shoes, and a retainer support member rigidly fitted on the swash plate, for slidably supporting the retainer. The swash plate compressor has a sliding plate interposed between the retainer and the retainer support member in a slidable manner with respect to both of the retainer and the retainer support member.

  • Patent number: 5026316
Abstract: A variable capacity wobble plate compressor includes a drive shaft arranged in a housing, bearings arranged in a portion of a cylinder block of the housing toward a crankcase within the housing for rotatably supporting the drive shaft, and a fixing member inserted into a portion of the cylinder block toward a discharge pressure chamber for fixing discharge valves in place. A high pressure-introducing passage is formed through the fixing member and extends from the discharge pressure chamber to the bearings. The high pressure-introducing passage introduces compression medium having high pressure from the discharge pressure chamber to the bearings so that the compression medium having high pressure leaks through the bearings into the crankcase.

  • Patent number: 4737079
Abstract: A variable capacity wobble plate compressor of the type that a wobble plate mounted on a drive shaft is swung axially of the drive shaft as the drive shaft rotates, and pistons connected to the wobble plate make reciprocating motions in response to swinging of the wobble plate, wherein a change in the angularity of the wobble plate causes a change in stroke of the reciprocating motions of the pistons whereby the capacity of the compressor is varied. A sensing element arranged on the wobble plate is moved along a predetermined orbital path together with swinging of the wobble plate. A sensor arranged on a compressor housing generates an electric signal when the sensing element passes by the sensor as the wobble plate swings. A control unit determines the rotational speed of the compressor and the angularity of the wobble plate on the basis of the electric signal from the sensor.

  • Patent number: 4732544
Abstract: A variable capacity wobble plate compressor in which pressure in a crankcase accomodating a wobble plate is controlled by a pressure-control valve disposed across a communication passage connecting the crankcase and a suction chamber, whereby the delivery quantity or capacity is varied with a change in the inclination angle of the wobble plate depending on the pressure in the crankcase. The pressure-control valve comprises bellows variable in length with a change in the magnituted of suction pressure, a valve body attached to one end of the bellows, a first movable member attached to the other end of the bellows, a first spring urging the valve body in the closing direction, a second movable member which is brought into or out of urging contact with the first movable member in response to at least a change in the discharge pressure, and a second spring interposed between the second movable member and a spring seat.
