Abstract: An apparatus, arrangement and method for remote opening electric door lock of a building. The apparatus (1) comprises control unit (5), a data communication unit (3) and an electrical actuator (6) configured to open the door lock (2) under control of the control unit. The apparatus is mounted at a remote door opening switch (10) and the control unit generates a control signal for the actuator to open the lock in response to receiving at least one authentication signal. The actuator is configured to move a manually operable switching element of the door opening switch and to thereby cause opening of the door lock.

  • Patent number: 7146318
Abstract: A method for detecting pauses in speech signals is disclosed in which the frequency spectrum is divided into two or more sub-bands. Samples of the signals on the sub-bands are stored at intervals, the energy levels of the sub-bands are determined on the basis of the stored samples, a power threshold value (thr) is determined, and the energy levels of the sub-bands are compared with said power threshold value (thr) . A subband minimum is set and a detection time limit is set so that, in a noise situation, a speech pause can be verified by checking to determine if each pause detected remains for the duration of the detection time limit and if a pause is detected in at least said minimum subbands.

  • Patent number: 7139697
Abstract: A method for selecting the language for a character sequence fed into a data processing device, wherein decision trees are trained for different characters on the basis of lexicons of predetermined languages. The decision trees describe language probabilities on the basis of characters in the environments of the characters. The decision trees for at least some of the characters of the character sequence fed into the data processing device are traversed, thus obtaining a probability of at least one language for each character. The language for the character sequence is selected on the basis of the probabilities obtained.

  • Patent number: 6965770
Abstract: A method and system for establishing a dynamic content delivery system (DCDS) is disclosed. In one embodiment, a Bluetooth enabled mobile communications unit is used to communicate with a server in order to make a request for the delivery of specific content, such as a song, video, or the like, to a separate output device, such as a loudspeaker, a display screen, or the like. In another embodiment the content is delivered back to the requesting mobile communications device. In some embodiments, hybrid networks may be used for requesting and delivering content. A narrowband, bi-directional, unicast network may be used for requesting content and acknowledging the requests, while a broadband, unidirectional, multicast network may be used to deliver the requested content to the requesting client device. The order in which the content is delivered may be modified by user requests according to a predetermined algorithm.

  • Publication number: 20050070268
Abstract: A test method and an arrangement for testing an RF circuit of a wireless device are provided. The test arrangement includes providing means connected to the RF circuit, the providing means for providing the RF circuit to be tested with an input test signal, thus generating an RF output test signal characterizing the response of the RF circuit, and down-converting means connected to the RF circuit and integrated at least partially into the RF circuit, the down-converting means for down-converting the RF output test signal to a BB frequency, thus generating a BB output test signal. The invention provides access to the RF circuit by using relatively simple test instrumentation operating at a base band frequency.

  • Patent number: 6707910
Abstract: The scope of the present invention is a device for detecting the source of a voice, which device comprises microphone means (2; 2a, 2b, 2M) for receiving a voice signal and detecting means for detecting the voice from the received voice signal. The device comprises means (15, 17) for determining the direction of arrival of the received signal, means (17) for storing the assumed direction of arrival of the voice of a certain source and means (18) for comparing the direction of arrival of said received signal with said assumed direction of arrival. The device further comprises means (18) for indicating that the source of the voice is said certain source when the comparison proves that the direction of arrival of said received signal matches with said assumed direction of arrival within a certain tolerance.

  • Patent number: 5963901
Abstract: The invention concerns a voice activity detection device in which an input speech signal (x(n)) is divided in subsignals (S(s)) representing specific frequency bands and noise (N(s)) is estimated in the subsignals. On basis of the estimated noise in the subsignals, subdecision signals (SNR(s)) are generated and a voice activity decision (V.sub.ind) for the input speech signal is formed on basis of the subdecision signals. Spectrum components of the input speech signal and a noise estimate are calculated and compared. More specifically a signal-to-noise ratio is calculated for each subsignal and each signal-to-noise ratio represents a subdecision signal (SNR(s)). From the signal-to-noise ratios a value proportional to their sum is calculated and compared with a threshold value and a voice activity decision signal (V.sub.ind) for the input speech signal is formed on basis of the comparison.

  • Patent number: 5839101
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of noise suppression, a mobile station and a noise suppressor for suppressing noise in a speech signal. The suppressor comprises means (20, 50) for dividing the speech signal into a first amount of subsignals (X, P), which subsignals represent certain first frequency ranges, and suppression means (30) for suppressing noise in a subsignal (X, P) based upon a determined suppression coefficient (G). The noise suppressor further comprises recombination means (60) for recombining a second amount of subsignals (X, P) into a calculation signal (S), which represents a certain second frequency range, which is wider than the first frequency ranges and determination means (200) for determining a suppression coefficient (G) for the calculation signal (S) based upon the noise contained by it.
