  • Patent number: 7812494
Abstract: The invention comprises an electrical machine with a stator (10) formed of plates, said stator (10) having an outer surface (11) and a first and second end (12) in the axial direction (2) and said stator being supported on the frame (1) of the electrical machine. The stator (10) is supported by necks of material (40a-d) on the outer surface (11) at both ends of the stator. The number of necks (40a-d) at both ends of the stator is even. The stator (10) has a vertical symmetry axis (7) perpendicular to the axial direction (2) and a horizontal symmetry axis (8) perpendicular to the axial direction (2), and the necks (21a-f, 31a-d, 40a-d) are located symmetrically in relation to at least one of the symmetry axes (7, 8).

Date of Patent: October 12, 2010
    Assignee: ABB Oy
Inventors: Timo Holopainen, Janne Roivainen, Ingmar Waltzer, Juha Hellsten
  • Patent number: 7626310
Abstract: An arrangement in a rotor of an electrical machine; the rotor (5) rotates around its axis of rotation and comprises of, at least, the frame (13) and coils (15), which are projected as coil ends (11). There are protruding beams (17,18) substantially projecting in the direction of the longitudinal axis from the frame (13) outside the outer ring surface (12) formed by the coil ends (11); a binding band (9) is fitted on the protruding beams (17, 18) and a binding band (9) is glideable on the protruding beams (17, 18).

Date of Patent: December 1, 2009
    Assignee: ABB Oy
Inventors: Juha Hellsten, Jarkko Saramo, Yrjö Tyllinen
