  • Publication number: 20160204507
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a pre-5th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4th-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). A method and system for selecting a beamforming configuration for a first antenna array for communication with a second antenna array are provided. The first array is configurable according to a first plurality of configurations and is associated with a first terminal. The method and system are configured to identify a first subset of beamforming configurations from the first plurality of beamforming configurations wherein each of the first plurality of beamforming configurations is associated with a data value, and the identification comprises using information associated with the location of any one or more of the first or second arrays.

  • Publication number: 20140086175
Abstract: A wireless device operates in a wireless cellular network under control of a network control apparatus. The wireless device transmits a signal to the network control apparatus. The wireless device receives from the network control apparatus a negative acknowledgement of receipt of the signal in accordance with an automatic repeat request process, The negative acknowledgement indicates that the signal was not received or was not received correctly by the network control apparatus. The wireless device either does not retransmit the signal to the network control apparatus or delays the retransmission of the signal to the network control apparatus in order to avoid conflict with a device-to-device discovery signal being sent by another wireless device.

  • Publication number: 20090046691
Abstract: A sequence restriction method is shown applicable for an uplink (UL) scheduling request in order to increase resistance against frequency error. A cyclic shift restriction is applied to the orthogonal cover codes used in a scheduling request structure. For an uplink scheduling request, the transmitter selects sequences which tolerate high Dopplers and/or frequency errors. Performance of scheduling requests is improved for UEs having high Doppler/frequency error (reduces false alarm rate). In addition, the improvement is obtained without changing the scheduling request structure. As a result, the multiplexing capacity of scheduling requests is not reduced in environments where there are no high speed UEs.
