  • Patent number: 9423909
Abstract: Provided herein are a method, apparatus and computer program product for interpreting user input and mitigating erroneous inputs on a device. In particular, methods may include receiving an indication of a first touch event, determining, by a touch mediation function, if the first touch event is an erroneous touch event, causing the first touch event to be sent to an application in response to the touch mediation function determining that the touch event is not erroneous; and causing the first touch event to not be sent to the application in response to the touch mediation function determining that the first touch event is erroneous. The first touch event may occur proximate a first capture area for the user interface and the method may further include causing the first capture area for the user interface to be adjusted in response to the first touch event.

  • Patent number: 7689236
Abstract: A media device, a network element and a method of enhancing use of a media device are provided. The media device is configured to receive a broadcast media stream transmitted by a broadcast system at a given frequency and a service transmission over a radio interface of a cellular telecommunication system, the transmission being associated with the media stream and comprising information about frequencies used to transmit the media stream in different locations. The media device measures signal strength of the media transmission at the frequency the transmission is received and at least at one other frequency used for transmission of the transmission, compares the measured signal strengths and switches the reception of the media transmission to another frequency if the signal strength at said frequency is greater than the signal strength at the current frequency.

  • Publication number: 20070225935
Abstract: An electronic device (500) comprising means (510) for identifying a motion pattern in a motion of the device, and means (510) for eliminating the effect of the motion pattern from a control motion employed for controlling the device. The identification unit (510) eliminates the effect of an identified motion pattern from the control motion by comparing the motion information measured by the measurement unit (508) with the control motion stored in the memory (504).

  • Publication number: 20060130102
Abstract: A method of enhancing the use of a media device and a media device are provided. The media device receives a broadcast media stream transmitted by a broadcast system, a service transmitted by a telecommunication system, the service being associated with a broadcast media stream and program guide information relating to a broadcast media stream. The media device is configured to detect when the service transmission comprises data corresponding to given search parameters and to record the broadcast media stream in a memory on the basis of the detection.

  • Publication number: 20060114893
Abstract: A media device and a method of updating associating data in a media device are provided. The associating data relates to a service being transmitted over a radio interface of a cellular telecommunication system and associating the service with a broadcast media stream transmitted by a broadcast system. A starting point of a route of the media device is determined. A geographical route from the starting point to a point of destination is determined, the route comprising a set of locations. A selection of a location from the set of locations is received. The associating data related to the service and a broadcast media stream transmitted to the geographical area in the vicinity of the selected location is determined. The broadcast media stream and the service associated with the media stream are received.

  • Publication number: 20060067260
Abstract: A method of updating associating data in a media device is provided. The associating data relates to a service being transmitted over a radio interface of a telecommunication system and associates the service with a broadcast media stream transmitted by a broadcast system. A media device receives a broadcast media stream from a broadcast system. The geographical location of the media device is determined. The media device sends a query for associating data, the query comprising information about the geographical location of the media device. The query is received and associating data is determined for more than one broadcast media stream transmitted to the geographical area in the vicinity of the media device and sent to the media device. The media device receives and stores the associating data.

  • Publication number: 20020006207
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of providing a user with information on the operation of the portable device and to a portable device. In the device, such a tone is produced that, due to a tone feature, can be distinguished from background noise. This feature can be tone frequency, duration, volume or moment of time. The device can analyse background noise automatically, and based on this, it adjusts at least one feature of the tone automatically such that the tone can be distinguished from background noise, and the background noise does not mask out the tone. Alternatively, the user himself can adjust the tone frequency or duration in a desired way so that it would be distinguished from background noise more clearly.
