  • Patent number: 9857345
Abstract: A method for measuring, from a thermal device, temperature, molecular number density, and/or pressure of a gaseous compound as function of distance, the gaseous compound absorbing at least some light. The method comprises generating, for a first wavelength band and a second wavelength band, a pulse sequence comprising a light pulse or light pulses, guiding the pulse sequence into the thermal device, and measuring, as function of time, the intensity of the scattered light at the first wavelength band and at the second wavelength band. The method further comprises determining information indicative of the differential absorption between the two wavelengths bands using measured intensities and determining the temperature, the molecular number density, and/or the pressure of the gaseous compound using the information indicative of the differential absorption between the two wavelengths bands. A thermal system arranged to carry out the method.

  • Patent number: 9778176
Abstract: The method includes guiding a light beam to a first optical path, the light beam being attenuated to an attenuated light beam and detecting a first value indicative of a first intensity of the attenuated light beam. The method further includes generating a last light pulse, dissociating at least part of the gas compound molecules (optionally excited) or dissociated parts thereof (optionally excited) on the first optical path to first part atoms, molecules, ions, or radicals, and to another part using the last light pulse, the light beam being further attenuated by absorption to the first part atoms, molecules, ions, or radicals on the first optical path. The method further includes detecting a second value indicative of a second intensity of the attenuated light beam and determining, using the first and second values, the gas compound content of the gas mixture. A gas compound measuring device measures uses the method.

  • Patent number: 6873353
Abstract: The object of the invention is a method for synchronizing image data obtained from process monitoring cameras. By utilizing synchronization, one and the same area in a paper web can be sought as it passed the different camera positions. Since the speed are high and the webs somewhat stretching, synchronization does not often directly result in the same area being shown in the different camera positions. To facilitate search, a selection area corresponding to the limited number of sequential images in the environment of the point of synchronization of each camera position is visualized for the operator, inside which area the corresponding area in the web can be found with certainty.

  • Patent number: 6809756
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for monitoring a process. The image information received from cameras monitoring various positions of the process is stored in digital form and various cameras positions are alternately selected for a display and analysis on the screen of a computer. The screen is also used for displaying an image variation graph representing the image variation data of images preceding and following the image to be analyzed. The system includes selector elements (5) for selecting a camera position representing the highest-level image variation for an automated display.

  • Patent number: 6549758
Abstract: The invention relates to a radio system including one or more network elements, a base station controller and a network management system that are operatively interconnected by means of telecommunication connections, and to a method of testing telecommunication connections of a network element to be install in the radio system. Information between the network elements is transmitted in frames that are divided into time slots, and the base station controller controls one or more network elements being physically connected to the system by means of the telecommunication connections. To enable reliable and fast installation of the network elements, the network element transmits to the base station controller a message including information that the network element is ready to be tested. The base station controller initiates a testing procedure after receiving the message. The testing includes all channels between the base station controller and the network element.

  • Patent number: 6463170
Abstract: The invention relates to a monitoring system for web breaks in a paper machine. A web (W) is monitored by means of a number of cameras (1) and the image data of various camera positions is used for compiling focused image regions (12). Camera-specific image processing equipment (2, 12) is adapted to compile image change data by comparing the change between sequential images as far as the focused image region (12) is concerned. The image change data is compared with a normal level of image change and an alarm message (3a) is delivered if the image change level has a deviation from the reference level which exceeds a preset threshold value. A break alarm is set off, in case said alarm message (3a) is delivered by image change data comparators (3) of one or more pre-selected camera positions (P1-Pn).
