  • Publication number: 20090015174
Abstract: A light source apparatus and a driving apparatus thereof are provided. The driving apparatus includes a first node, a second node, a clock synchronization unit, a control unit, a switch unit, and a feedback unit. The driving apparatus receives an AC voltage through the first and the second nodes. The clock synchronization unit converts the AC voltage into a clock synchronization signal. The control unit converts a preset brightness value into a driving current, outputs an adjusting signal according to a timing of the clock synchronization signal, and modulates a pulse width of the adjusting signal according a feedback signal. The switch unit determines whether or not the AC voltage is provided to the light source module according to a control of the adjusting signal. The feedback unit detects a load state of the light source module, and outputs the feedback signal to the control unit according a detection result.

  • Patent number: 7193689
Abstract: Method and device for light signal reception. This device can selectively execute a comparison mode or a gain mode. In the device, a transmitter transmits a light beam to a target. A receiver receives the light beam reflected from the target and outputs a corresponding received signal. In the comparison mode, it is determined whether a pulse in the received signal is higher than a reference voltage level. When the pulse is higher the reference voltage level, the pulse is outputted. The gain mode is executed and the received signal is amplified and output when no pulse is higher than the reference voltage level in the received signal. The method and device of the present invention can be applied to range finders, the comparison mode is executed during short-distance measurement and the gain mode is executed during long-distance measurement thereby measuring the target distance from several meters to a thousand meters.

  • Patent number: 7106422
Abstract: A Rangefinder capable of long and short distance measurement in company with compass measurement. The rangefinder includes distance measurement unit, a compass sensing unit and a processor. The rangefinder can selectively execute a comparison mode or a gain mode. The comparison mode is executed during short-distance measurement and the gain mode is executed during long-distance measurement. The compass measurement unit senses a terrestrial magnetism to obtain first and second magnetic sensing signals. The processor estimates a distance between the target and the rangefinder according to the measurement signal from the distance measurement unit and determines a compass orientation of the target according to the first and second magnetic sensing signals.

  • Publication number: 20030234869
Abstract: A camera for measuring the distance to an object is combined with a laser range measuring device by using a beam splitting device so as to simultaneously take the image of the object and measure the distance between the camera and the object. Using the focal length of the lens, the width and height of the image on the image detector, and the distance between the camera and the object, it is then possible to compute the width and height of the object according to the geometrical optics. By means of obtaining the speed of the image moving on the image detector, the camera of the invention further computes the speed of the object which is projected on a plane perpendicular to the optical axis of the lens.

  • Publication number: 20030035097
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for locating an object by using a laser range finder are disclosed, and more particularly relates to a method and an apparatus that can increase distance and accuracy of measuring object without increasing laser emitting power. Since noise is existent randomly, through the statistics theorem, it is known that an accurate distance between the laser range finder and the measured object can be measured and obtained by repeatedly performing measurements and accumulatively adding the result obtained from each measurement. Hence, by utilizing the present invention, an accurate distance between the laser range finder and the measured object can be measured without increasing the emitting laser power, and even if the measurement is performed under a noisy situation.
