  • Patent number: 7724320
Abstract: An exemplary liquid crystal display (200) includes a liquid crystal panel (210) and a backlight module (220). The backlight module is positioned for illuminating the liquid crystal panel, and includes a light source (222) and at least one optical member (221). The at least one optical member includes absorbing material for absorbing light beams having wavelength more than 700 nanometers, such that when light beams provided by the light source transmit through the at least one optical member, at least some of the light beams having wavelengths more than 700 nanometers are absorbed by the absorbing material.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 19, 2007
Date of Patent: May 25, 2010
    Assignee: Innolux Display Corp.

  • Publication number: 20070103618
Abstract: A polarizer plate (210) in order has a protection film (211); a polarization main body (212), having an absorption axis (2120); and a wide view film (213), having a discotic liquid crystal layer. The discotic liquid crystal layer has a plurality of discotic liquid crystal moleculars, which are aligned in a direction (2133) maintaining an angle relative to the absorption axis.

  • Publication number: 20060291236
Abstract: A light guide plate (200) includes at least one surface through which light beams pass, at least one translucent ink film (220) disposed on the at least one surface through which light beams pass, and the at least one translucent ink film includes a plurality of pigment particles (221). The pigment particles of the translucent ink film can absorb red light and green light, and thereby compensate for a shift in chromaticity that would otherwise occur in a backlight module due to absorption of blue light in the optical sheets of the backlight module. Therefore degradation of the display quality of the LCD is reduced or even eliminated.
