Patent number: 10859841Abstract: An augmented reality image device is provided and includes a display, a mirror, a reflector, and a front mask. The display has a first side and a second side opposite to the first side. The mirror and the front mask are disposed at the first side of the display. The first reflector is disposed at the second side of the display. The front mask has a reflection area. The display emits an image light from the first side to the mirror. The image light is reflected by the mirror to the reflector. The reflector reflects the image light to the reflection area of the front mask. Therefore, a virtual image caused by the image light in the reflection area is combined with a real image to generate an augmented reality image.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 2018Date of Patent: December 8, 2020Assignee: METAL INDUSTRIES RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CENTREInventors: Jui-Ting Chien, Sheng-Hsiu Tseng

Publication number: 20190318464Abstract: A fingerprint identification module test system includes a light source, a projection surface, a low-end image pickup device and a judgment module. The light source emits and projects a light beam onto an under-test fingerprint identification module. After the light beam is reflected by the under-test fingerprint identification module and projected onto the projection surface, a projected image is formed on the projection surface. Then, the low-end image pickup device photographs the projected image to acquire an under-test corresponding to the under-test fingerprint identification module. According to the result of comparing the under-test image with the predetermined image, the judgment module judges whether the under-test fingerprint identification module complies with the production specifications. Since the fingerprint identification module test system uses parity devices to test the under-test fingerprint identification module, the fingerprint identification module test system is cost-effective.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 25, 2018Publication date: October 17, 2019Inventors: SHENG-CHI CHAN, JUI-TING CHIEN, PEI-MING HSU

Publication number: 20190147652Abstract: An augmented reality device, which is wearable on a user for merging virtual and real images, includes a virtual image projection module and a front cover. A display of the virtual image projection module is provided to generate and project first and second image lights to a light-path dividing means. The first and second image lights passed through the light-path dividing means are respectively projected to first and second reflective elements which are configured to respectively reflect the first and second image lights to the front cover. The front cover is provided to reflect the first and second image lights to the user's eyes for generating the virtual image. Furthermore, the light outside the augmented reality device can pass through the front cover and project on the user's eyes for generating the real image, such that the user can see the virtual and real images simultaneously.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 26, 2017Publication date: May 16, 2019Inventors: Jui-Ting Chien, Sheng-Hsiu Tseng, Cheng-Huan Chen

Patent number: 10002440Abstract: A method for measuring a depth of field is provided. An initial depth-of-field data is acquired through two optical lens modules and another depth-of-field data is obtained according to the phase detection pixel groups of the image captured by one of the optical lens modules. Consequently, even if objects in the scene are arranged along the same direction as the two optical lens modules, the error of the initial depth-of-field data can be compensated. Moreover, an image pickup device using the method is provided.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 2016Date of Patent: June 19, 2018Assignee: PRIMAX ELECTRONICS LTD.Inventor: Jui-Ting Chien

Patent number: 9843712Abstract: An image focusing method and an image pickup device using the image focusing method are provided. The image focusing method includes following steps. Firstly, an image is captured. Then, the plural first incident light pixels of the image are collected as a first pattern, and plural second incident light pixels of the image as a second pattern. The first pattern has a first block corresponding to a focusing area of the image. The second pattern has a second block corresponding to the focusing area of the image. Then, a phase difference between the first block and the second block and phase differences between the first block and plural test block are obtained. The test blocks are partially overlapped with the second block or located near the second block. Afterwards, a lens module is moved according to the lowest phase difference.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 2016Date of Patent: December 12, 2017Assignee: Primax Electronics Ltd.Inventor: Jui-Ting Chien

Publication number: 20170345171Abstract: A method for measuring a depth of field is provided. A single optical lens module is used to capture an image. The depth-of-field data of each imaging area of the image is acquired according to plural first incident light portions and plural second incident light portions of the image. Then, the plural local depth-of-field data are combined as an overall depth-of-field data of the image. Moreover, an image pickup device using the method is provided. For acquiring the depth-of-field data, it is not necessary to install plural optical lens modules. Consequently, the fabricating cost is reduced, and the volume of the image pickup device is decreased.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 6, 2016Publication date: November 30, 2017Inventor: Jui-Ting Chien
