  • Patent number: 10931212
Abstract: Unique systems, methods, techniques and apparatuses of motor starters are disclosed. One exemplary embodiment is a synchronous machine including a plurality of stator phase windings, a rotor, a motor starter, and a controller. The motor starter includes a plurality of wye semiconductor switches and a plurality of delta semiconductor switches. The controller is structured to operate the plurality of wye semiconductor switches and the plurality of delta semiconductor switches so as to couple the plurality of stator phase windings in a delta configuration while an angular speed of the rotor is less than a synchronous speed, and structured to operate the plurality of wye semiconductor switches and the plurality of delta semiconductor switches so as to couple the plurality of stator phase windings in a wye configuration in response to the angular speed of the rotor being equal to the synchronous speed.

  • Publication number: 20100287794
Abstract: A construction for a ski binding and a ski boot for coupling a ski boot (1)—at its front section to a ski (2), and allowing the lifting of the heel section of the ski boot from the ski. The ski binding has a coupling mechanism (4) for coupling the ski boot to the binding, and the ski boot has a transverse rotation axis (5) coupled to the sole of the boot and positioned perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction of the sole, which rotation axis can be used for coupling the ski boot, with a locking mechanism, to an axial locking (6) provided on the ski, the sole of the ski boot including a toe section (7), a ball section (8), an arched section (9) and a heel section (10). The rotation axis is coupled to the sole of the boot such that the toe section is positioned in front of the rotation axis.

  • Publication number: 20090218986
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the management of rechargeable series-connected cells (C1, C2, C3) by means of individual measurements, by monitoring each cell during the course of its charging, storage or discharging cycle for measuring the cell properties and for adjusting the properties of inconsistent cells by manipulating the same for mitigating inter-cellular discrepancies.

  • Publication number: 20080088194
Abstract: The object of the invention is a rotor for a permanent-magnet machine with an outer circumference curved towards the stator of the machine and permanent magnets fitted into openings arranged in the pole piece. According to the invention, the pole piece includes several parallel permanent magnets, leaving a neck of material at the edges of the pole piece outside the permanent magnets.

  • Publication number: 20070003771
Abstract: The invention relates to a grip wax of skis containing polyisobutylene base, resin as grip material and wax as glide material. Furthermore, the invention relates to a corresponding method and product for applying grip wax os skis to the ski bases. In the method, the grip wax is melted to form a uniform film over a transfer substrate; a strip of desired length and having the width of the ski is prepared of the transfer substrate; the strip is pressed with the wax surface facing downwards against the ski base and is pressed in place in ambient temperature without external heating, and the transfer substrate is withdrawn from top of the wax film that stuck to the ski baes, and the waxing is completed.

  • Patent number: 4743042
Abstract: The invention concerns a ski fastening for fixing a skiing shoe (1) on a ski, said fastening comprising a body part (2) to be fixed on the ski and a catch member (3) pivotally attached to the body part and with the aid of which, by mediation of an eye-like hook member (4) on the skiing shoe the shoe becomes fixed to the body part (2). The surface of the body part (2) abutting on the shoe tip forms a wedge-like surface (6) substantially conforming to the tip (5) of the shoe and tapering in the direction forward. In the narrowest part of the surface (6), the front part (7), has been provided for the hook member (4) an aperture (8). Furthermore, the catch member (3) comprises a locking claw (9) of curved shape for locking the hook member (4) that has been pushed through the aperture (8) and, along with it the tip (5) of the skiing shoe (1), to be substantially immovable relative to the body part (2).
