Publication number: 20230422018Abstract: Method and arrangement for collecting subscriber identity is presented. A communication intelligence cell is formed for carrying out uplink and downlink communication with cellular mobile devices. The cell is connected to the identity query interface of the cellular network operator. An encrypted subscriber identity of the cellular mobile device is received from a mobile device. A radio connection to the mobile device is closed. A second registration request with a temporary identity of the cellular mobile device is received from the mobile device. An identity query with the temporary identity of the mobile device is transmitted to the identity query interface and permanent identity of the mobile device is received from the query interface.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 15, 2023Publication date: December 28, 2023Inventor: Jukka KEMPPAINEN

Publication number: 20230300896Abstract: Base stations, system, methods, and computer programs are disclosed to implement two successive or simultaneous ad hoc (Long-Term Evolution) LTE cells. The successive LTE cells are set up successively on a same channel number but with different Physical Cell IDs (PCID) and Tracking Area Codes (TAC). The simultaneous LTE cells are set up simultaneously on different channel numbers, and with different PCIDs and TACs. A radio connection is set up in the ad hoc LTE cell to an LTE user apparatus, and a Non-Access Stratum (NAS) timer is set simultaneously. The following is repeated until a predetermined period of time remains before an expiry of the NAS timer: commanding the LTE user apparatus to use full buffer in all uplink messages; forcing the LTE user apparatus to send uplink messages; and receiving a reply message from the LTE user apparatus.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 28, 2023Publication date: September 21, 2023Inventors: Jukka KEMPPAINEN, Juha Olavi LEHTIKANGAS

Publication number: 20230105088Abstract: An ad hoc radio base station obtains information regarding existing 5G NR SA cells; for each existing cell, performs an analysis by detecting a frequency of a synchronization signal block, of the existing cell from the information, decoding a radio frequency, bandwidth of the existing cell from the information, and measuring a reference signal received power of the existing 5G NR SA cell. The station also sets up an ad hoc 5G NR SA cell based on the analysis.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 4, 2022Publication date: April 6, 2023Applicant: EXFO OyInventors: Jukka KEMPPAINEN, Juha KUMPULA, Juha Lehtikangas

Patent number: 11240808Abstract: Methods and arrangements are disclosed for collecting subscriber identity. A cell is formed for carrying out communications with mobile devices. A channel bandwidth indication is transmitted and indicates to cellular mobile devices the formed cell utilizes bandwidth identical to the bandwidth utilized in neighboring real cells. A downlink radio channel power level on a given continuous channel subset of the indicated channel bandwidth is provided. A communication request from a cellular mobile device is received and radio resources allocated to the cellular mobile device from the given continuous channel subset of the indicated channel bandwidth. A subscriber identity of the cellular mobile device is received from the cellular mobile device.Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 2020Date of Patent: February 1, 2022Assignee: EXFO OYInventors: Jukka Kemppainen, Hannu Toppinen
