Publication number: 20220024723Abstract: The invention relates to a method for constructing an elevator, comprising providing an elevator car; providing plurality of prefabricated hoistway modules to be piled on top of each other, each hoistway module bordering a hoistway space into which the whole elevator car or at least an upper or lower end thereof can be fitted to move; and piling said plurality of prefabricated modules on top of each other, such that the hoistway spaces of the prefabricated modules are vertically aligned forming a continuous vertically elongated hoistway where the elevator car can be fitted to move; and arranging the elevator car to be vertically movable in the hoistway. The invention also relates to an elevator obtained with the method.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 30, 2021Publication date: January 27, 2022Applicant: Kone CorporationInventors: Jukka LAITINEN, Anssi VENHO, Ville MYYRYLAINEN, Tarvo VIITA-AHO

Publication number: 20210245997Abstract: The invention relates to a movable machine room comprising a support platform of a hoisting machine, the support platform comprising one or more releasable mounting mechanisms for releasably mounting the moveable machine room in a hoistway, and a hoisting machine mounted on the support platform; a working platform on top of the support platform, preferably forming a roof of the moveable machine room and/or comprising handrails; and at least one support structure supported by which the working platform rests on the support platform; and wherein each said support structure is selectively actuatable to expand in vertical direction for hoisting the working platform higher above the support platform taking reaction force from the support platform, or to contract in vertical direction for lowering the working platform back towards the support platform. The invention relates to an arrangement and a method implementing the movable machine room.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 29, 2021Publication date: August 12, 2021Applicant: Kone CorporationInventors: Matti RASANEN, Tarvo VIITA-AHO, Markku HAIVALA, Jukka LAITINEN, Markku HAAPANIEMI, Hans VALTONEN, Anssi VENHO, Janne MIKKONEN, Aki HAIKONEN, Otto LANZ, Janne LAINE, Jorma MUSTALAHTI, Jori HAGG, Jari OSTERMAN, Petri KERE

Publication number: 20210165542Abstract: The invention relates to a maintenance interface system for providing a visual output representing maintenance related information of a people transport system or access control system. The maintenance interface system comprises: a storage unit having maintenance related information of the people transport system or the access control system stored thereon, and a user device. The user device is arranged to: receive at least part of the stored maintenance related information from the storage unit in response to detecting an activation event, and provide a visual output representing the received maintenance related information. The invention relates also to a method for providing visual output representing maintenance related information of a people transport system or the access control system.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 4, 2020Publication date: June 3, 2021Applicant: Kone CorporationInventors: Sanni SILTANEN, Jukka LAITINEN

Patent number: 9868615Abstract: Stall condition in an elevator is potentially dangerous situation if it causes slack to the ropes of the elevator. In such situation a counterweight or elevator car does not move even if the hoisting machine is still operating. This situation may be prevented by stopping the elevator as early as possible after detecting such stall condition. The detection of the stall condition is based on monitoring the torque generated by the hoisting machine of the elevator. When rapid change in the torque is detected a stall condition is suspected. The elevator may be stopped or an alarm may be launched when the stall condition is suspected.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 2014Date of Patent: January 16, 2018Assignee: Kone CorporationInventors: Jari Helvilä, Sakari Korvenranta, Petter Martonen, Petteri Valjus, Jukka Laitinen, Lauri Stolt
