  • Publication number: 20230398878
Abstract: An automotive vehicle includes an electric machine, a power converter that powers the electric machine and includes a switch having an adjustable gate drive resistance, a source of audio, and a controller that varies the gate drive resistance according to a received signal strength associated with the source of audio.

  • Patent number: 10523109
Abstract: An electrified vehicle capacitor assembly including a film capacitor assembly and a support structure is provided. The film capacitor assembly may include a stack of alternating electrodes and film layers. The electrodes may be offset from one another to alternatively contact opposing terminals. The support structure may include coolant channels and may be arranged to orient the film capacitor assembly adjacent an inverter assembly and such that each is in conductive thermal communication with at least one of the coolant channels. The film capacitor assembly further includes a stack of alternating metal foils and film layers disposed between a pair of contact layers, a pair of terminals, and a first thermal plate. Each of the pair of terminals is disposed on an outer side of one of each of the pair of contact layers.

  • Patent number: 10494986
Abstract: A cap for a coolant reservoir that accommodates the expansion of coolant stored therein. The expanding coolant results from an increase in temperature and causes an increase in pressure to build within the coolant reservoir. The cap includes a base and a crown having an air-dome which extends upwardly therefrom. The base includes a passageway extending therethrough and in fluid communication with an interior cavity or an “air gap” formed in the crown. As the cap is positioned over an open neck of the coolant reservoir, by being screwed or otherwise fitted thereon, the interior cavity remains positioned above the neck. Thus, as the coolant within the coolant reservoir becomes heated and expands, the interior cavity provides additional space for the coolant to occupy and pressure to build within.

  • Publication number: 20180208079
Abstract: A power distribution system for a vehicle includes a first contactor configured to selectively couple a traction battery and an inverter that operates an electric machine via switch control. The system includes a second contactor that selectively couples an electrical load and the traction battery. The first contactor and the second contactor are closed to operate the vehicle. The system includes a controller programmed to, in response to loss of the inverter switching control, open the first contactor but not the second contactor to isolate the inverter from the traction battery.
