  • Patent number: 11948220
Abstract: The disclosed computer-implemented method may include dynamically selecting transportation options to present to a transportation requestor device based on current transportation network conditions and transportation requestor device history. In some embodiments, transportation network may have many different ways of arranging a transportation requestor's trip, such as private rides, shared rides, immediate rides, and delayed rides. In some examples, the requestor's choice of transportation option may have an impact on the transportation network. In anticipation of or in response to a transportation request, the method may determine which transportation options will better benefit the transportation network and determine which transportation options to display to the requestor and/or the prominence with which the transportation products are displayed. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8010367
Abstract: The present invention discloses a system and a method for authenticating a user based upon a spoken password processed though a standard speech recognition engine lacking specialized speaker identification and verification (SIV) capabilities. It should be noted that the standard speech recognition grammar can be capable of acoustically generating speech recognition grammars in accordance with the cross referenced application indicated herein. The invention can prompt a user for a free-form password and can receive a user utterance in response. The utterance can be processed through a speech recognition engine (e.g., during a grammar enrollment operation) to generate an acoustic baseform. Future user utterances can be matched against the acoustic baseform. Results from the future matches can be used to determine whether to grant the user access to a secure resource.

  • Patent number: 7881938
Abstract: A system and method for navigating a dialog hierarchy from a voice user interface (VUI) using speech bookmarks. The method can detect a user spoken command for bookmarking a location within a dialog hierarchy of a voice response system. A user spoken bookmark can be received, which is added to a personalized bookmark grammar that is associated with a user who spoke the bookmark name. A database record can be used to associate the new bookmark name with a location within the dialog hierarchy. During a subsequent interaction between the user and the voice response system, the user can speak the bookmark name, which results in a match being detected between the spoken phrase and the personalized bookmark grammar. The voice response system can then navigate to the location within bookmark hierarchy that is associated with the speech bookmark.

  • Publication number: 20060288629
Abstract: The present invention is an illuminated fishing rod. The illuminated rod further comprises an elongated shaft having a tip portion at one end and a handle at the opposite end. A compartment is internally integrated within the handle. The compartment is adapted to receive a power source and a light source. A plurality of eyelet guide members is mounted upon the longitudinal axis from the proximal end to the distal end of the shaft. A bundle of optical fibers are operationally mounted within the elongated shaft. The light source is operationally connected to the optical fibers for illuminating the shaft, and the power source is operationally connected to the light source to generate power for the light source to illuminate the shaft. In an alternative embodiment, the bundle of optical fibers is operationally mounted along the external surface of the elongated shaft. In another embodiment, the elongated shaft is segmented into multiple sections for easy storage.
