  • Publication number: 20070120465
Abstract: Disclosed is a conventional organic light emitting diode (OLED) having one reflective electrode in combination with at least one transparent OLED in stacked configuration functioning as backlighting in a transflective display apparatus such as a liquid crystal display (LCD). Preferably, at least two transparent OLEDs are arranged in a stacked configuration with one conventional OLED, each of the three OLEDs emitting light of a different bandwidth. The reflective electrode located behind the backlight also serves as a reflecting plate for the display. This arrangement enhances reflectivity and permits color sequencing in the transmissive mode, allowing all the components of a full color display (i.e. red, green, blue) to emit through the same pixel without the need for a color filter.

  • Publication number: 20060047963
Abstract: A method and a system for expeditious processing of guaranteed signature documents. Signers and recipients are enrolled with the guarantee signature company whereby recipients acknowledge the authenticity of the documents signed by the signers. Optionally, a guarantor bond can be provided by the guarantee signature company to the document recipients. Signers must provide the guarantee signature company with personal validation information such as signature samples on hard copy, signature samples on electronic signature capture pad, biometric information such as fingerprint, iris scan, picture and/or video ID and audio ID. The guarantee signature company issues user ID, password and, where applicable, public key infrastructure digital certificate to the signer to forward the signed documents via encryption. The guarantee signature company receives the signed document and transmits it to the recipient, all done in an abridged time frame.

  • Patent number: 6363554
Abstract: A head hugging pillow case including a ruffled extension which provides warmth to the head and shoulders while sleeping. The ruffled extension can be easily shaped to cover the head, face, neck and/or ears for maximum warmth and breathability. The ruffled extension can also be flipped over the top of the pillowcase when not needed for extra warmth. The ruffled extension also provides a light shield for one's eyes during sleep or resting time.

  • Patent number: 6331257
Abstract: Methods for the design and fabrication of micro-electro-mechanical switches are disclosed. Two different switch designs with three different switch fabrication techniques are presented for a total of six switch structures. Each switch has a multiple-layer armature with a suspended biasing electrode and a conducting transmission line affixed to the structural layer of the armature. A conducting dimple is connected to the conducting line to provide a reliable region of contact for the switch. The switch is fabricated using silicon nitride as the armature structural layer and silicon dioxide as the sacrificial layer supporting the armature during fabrication. Hydrofluoric acid is used to remove the silicon dioxide layer with post-processing in a critical point dryer to increase yield.

  • Patent number: 6069587
Abstract: A multiband millimeterwave antenna system for communicating signals in multiple frequency bands is disclosed. A main antenna body is connected to antenna extensions by micro-electro-mechanical switches. By opening and closing the switches, the length of the antenna can be altered. The antenna is coupled to a microstrip feed line by an aperture. A series of matching stubs match the impedance of the feed line for the various signal frequencies.

  • Patent number: 6043727
Abstract: A reconfigurable filter system designed using micro-elecro-mechanical (MEM) switches is disclosed. The filter comprises a transmission line with one or more filter stubs coupled to the transmission line by MEM switches. The impedance of the filter system is altered by selectively opening and closing the MEM switches, which alters the filter characteristics of the filter system. Alternatively, the characteristics of the filter system are altered by using the MEM switches to selectively alter the length of filter stubs attached to the transmission line.
