  • Patent number: 11903761
Abstract: The present disclosure describes ultrasound imaging systems and methods that may be used to image, for example, breast tissue. An ultrasound imaging system according to one embodiment may include a probe, a sensor attached to the probe and operatively associated with a position tracking system, a processor configured to receive probe position data from the position tracking system. The user interface may be configured to provide instructions for placement of the probe at a plurality of anatomical landmarks of a selected breast of the subject and receive user input to record the spatial location of the probe at each of the plurality of anatomical landmarks. The processor may be configured to determine a scan area based on the spatial location of the probe at each of the plurality of anatomical landmarks and generate a scan pattern for the selected breast. The processor may be further configured to monitor movement of the probe.

  • Patent number: 8897517
Abstract: A data acquisition method performed by one or more controllers includes receiving information related to a sequence of a plurality of images. The method further includes receiving, from an ultrasonic probe, image information corresponding to a current image of the plurality of images in the sequence. The method still further includes determining whether a caliper input has been received, and when it is determined that a caliper input has been received: obtaining coordinate information corresponding to one or more locations in the current image, selecting an other image which is different from, and associated with, the current image, and obtaining one or more coordinates corresponding to one or more locations in the other image. The method further includes saving a report including the image information and the coordinate information corresponding to each image of the plurality of images of the sequence.

  • Publication number: 20110254842
Abstract: A system (100) and method (400) of acoustic imaging receives an acoustic signal that is scanned to interrogate a target volume within a subject (430), processes the received acoustic signal to produce three-dimensional acoustic image data for a region of interest within the target volume (450); and quantifies the contrast of the three-dimensional acoustic image data in the region of interest at a sampling time that is offset by a selected time period with respect to a time when a contrast enhancement medium is introduced into the subject's circulatory system (480). In one embodiment, quantification is performed by setting an intensity threshold (410), and determining a percentage of voxels of the three-dimensional acoustic image data for the region of interest which have an intensity value greater than the intensity threshold (470).
