  • Publication number: 20070009995
Abstract: The instant invention is drawn to the methods and compositions necessary to provide recombinant proteins with a substantially reduced or eliminated content of norleucine or other non-standard amino acids. Various embodiments of the invention provide for the substantial elimination of the incorporation of non-standard amino acids into recombinant proteins by the co-expression or enhanced expression of a protein (or the enzymatically active portion thereof) capable of degrading norleucine or other non-standard amino acids, including norvaline, beta-methylnorleucine, and homoisoleucine. In certain particular embodiments of the invention, the norleucine is degraded by a glutamate dehydrogenase, a leucine dehydrogenase, a valine dehydrogenase, a phenylalanine dehydrogenase, a glutamate/leucine/phenylalanine/valine dehydrogenase, or an opine dehydrogenase. Also provided are the cells and DNA constructs for carrying out these methods.

  • Publication number: 20060058427
Abstract: The present invention provides methods of making sticky powder comprising mixing one or more resin or (co)polymer powders in one or more mixing devices without agglomerating the powders and while measuring the power, work or torque drawn by the mixing devices, the mixing continuing until the measure of the power or torque drawn indicates that the powders have become sticky. The mixing further comprises adding to the powders one or more dry materials and mixing to so that the dry materials adhere or “bond” to the sticky powders. Alternatively, the methods further comprise slowing or stopping the mixing, or cooling while mixing once the said sticky powders have been formed, adding one or more dry materials to form a sticky powder mixture, and further mixing to bond the sticky powders and the dry materials together. The dry materials may comprise one or more flake materials, e.g.

  • Publication number: 20050250879
Abstract: The present invention provides powder compositions comprising mixtures of ingredients as unassociated discrete particles in a raw mix having an average particle size ranging from 1 to 25 ?m. The raw mix comprises randomly shaped primary particles consisting of solids of one or more than one film-forming (co)polymer or resin, and may further comprise particles of one or more than one solid additive chosen from melt flow aids, non-film-forming coloring agents, non-film-forming fillers and mixtures thereof. In addition, the raw mix may comprise at least one of particles of one or more dry flow aid, particles of one or more charge control agent. Further, the invention provides methods for making raw mixes consisting essentially of providing and, if needed, combining the one or more necessary solids, and then milling, preferably jet milling, to the desired average particle size. The raw mix powders may be encapsulated to form particles that are air fluidizable using conventional electrostatic spray equipment.
