  • Patent number: 11962980
Abstract: An exemplary system includes a memory storing instructions and a processor communicatively coupled to the memory. The processor may be configured to execute the instructions to present a spectro-temporally modulated audio signal to a user. The spectro-temporally modulated audio signal may be modulated within both a frequency domain and a time domain. The processor may be further configured to execute the instructions to adjust a modulation depth of the spectro-temporally modulated audio signal while the spectro-temporally modulated audio signal is being presented to the user, determine, during the adjusting of the modulation depth, a modulation detection threshold that corresponds to a minimum modulation depth at which the user is able to perceive modulation of the spectro-temporally modulated audio signal, and determine, based on the modulation detection threshold, a hearing capability of the user.

  • Patent number: 11184715
Abstract: An exemplary hearing device includes a memory storing instructions and a processor communicatively coupled to the memory. The processor may be configured to execute the instructions to receive an input audio signal having a range of input frequencies, adaptively adjust a cut-off frequency for the input audio signal such that a value of the cut-off frequency varies between a predefined minimum cut-off frequency value and a predefined maximum cut-off frequency value as a continuous function of the input audio signal, and generate an output audio signal by mapping the range of input frequencies to a range of output frequencies determined based on the adaptively adjusted cut-off frequency.

  • Patent number: 10219727
Abstract: A method for fitting a hearing device to the needs and preferences of a user of the hearing device is disclosed. In a first step of the disclosed method, a first range for a parameter setting of a first parameter is determined based on a first audiological test performed with the user. In a second step of the disclosed method, the first parameter is adjusted to a first final parameter setting within the first range and/or a second parameter of the hearing device is adjusted to a second final parameter setting based on a second audiological test performed with the user. The second parameter is functionally related to the first parameter such that the first parameter is expressible as a function of the second parameter, and the adjusting is performed such that the first parameter setting remains within the first range. Additionally, corresponding fitting apparatuses and computer-readable media are disclosed.
