Abstract: An apparatus for and the method of utilizing an internet terminal coupled to the world wide web to access an existing proprietary data base management system having a dialog-based request format. The user request is received by a web server from the world wide web and converted into one or more sequenced data base management commands stored as corresponding to the service request. A security profile, if necessary, is also stored with the one or more sequenced data base management commands based upon the specific data tables within the data base which must be accessed to honor the service request. The security profile is compared to the user-id of the requestor. If a match is found, the data base management commands are sequentially presented to the data base management system and the intermediate products stored. After all of the sequenced data base management commands have been executed, the web server combines the intermediate products to form a complete response to the initial user request.

Abstract: An apparatus for and method of parsing the plurality of input parameters received from a user terminal into an ordered ASCII string of predefined format. This permits the user to receive nearly realtime responses to service requests requiring a plurality of ordered input parameters. This is accomplished when the Active Server Page (ASP) module calls the WebParse.dll module for parsing. Thus, the service request is honoring in near realtime.

Abstract: A method and system for distributed, dynamic generation of graphics files. A database server system is configured and arranged with a service application and a graphics requester. The service application is arranged to generate a graphics file request that includes data to be graphed and a graph code indicative of a graph style. The graphics requester is coupled to the service application and arranged to provide transmission of the graphics request and receive a generated graphics file. A graphics server system is coupled to the database system and includes a graphics socket server and a graphics server application. The graphics socket server is arranged to receive graphics requests and transmit graphics files, and the graphics server application is coupled to the graphics socket server and arranged to generate a graphics file in response to the graphics request.

Abstract: An apparatus for and method of utilizing an internet terminal coupled to the world wide web using HTML communications protocol to access an existing proprietary data base management system having varying requirements for command language format. The user request is received by a web server from the world wide web. The command language script is generated in response to data supplied by the user as entries in HTML screens. The script writer, called data wizard converts these inputs into one or more sequenced commands in the command language of the data base management system. These data base management commands are sequentially presented to the data base management system and the intermediate products stored. After all of the sequenced data base management commands have been executed, the web server combines the intermediate products to form a complete response to the initial user request. The response is transferred to the user over the world wide web. The sequenced commands may be stored for future use.
