  • Publication number: 20100311404
Abstract: A system and method for providing updated rules governing the switching of enabled provisioning data supporting a wireless service contract. A mobile device may be initially programmed with a profile data table and priority list index data table to automatically enable provisioning data supporting one of the plurality of service providers stored in a VSIM internal memory unit to conduct a wireless communication when certain operational parameter values are satisfied. The profile data table and priority list index data table may be automatically updated in response to a variety of triggers.

  • Publication number: 20090163175
Abstract: A system and method for providing a capability to backup cellular telephone provisioning information and personal data from a mobile handset on a server. A user initializes an account with a service provider with authentication credentials and backs up provisioning information and personal data stored within a mobile handset to server for safe keeping. The provisioning information and personal data can be accessed via the cellular telephone network so that the provisioning and personal data can be transferred among mobile handsets. This allows a user to restore personal data quickly and easily if a mobile handset replaced, lost or destroyed. The system and method further provide the capability to remotely provision new mobile handsets.

  • Publication number: 20080147434
Abstract: A system for delivering content to a terminal includes a secure content server. The server includes a database in which content delivery conditions are defined. At least one of the delivery conditions relates to a location at which it is permissible to render content. A request from a terminal to deliver content for rendering will be accepted provided the terminal is determined to be within the pre-defined location.

  • Publication number: 20070288390
Abstract: A method and apparatus for consumption of content (1) is described in which a licensor is able to exercise control over consumption based on a personal identity in the form of a set of binding attributes (15). The control may be exercised for a number of consuming terminals (19) including rendering machines such as portable video and audio players.

  • Publication number: 20070208953
Abstract: Methods, devices, apparatus, computer-readable media and processors are provided that protect the distribution of media content. Media content is encrypted and the associated cryptographic mechanisms are stored and accessible either remotely at a networked database or internally within a data storage device memory. Access to the cryptographic mechanisms is granted by associating the cryptographic mechanisms with a data storage device identification and, optionally, a computing device identification.

  • Publication number: 20040249768
Abstract: The invention provides a method, system, and computer program product to control the access, copying, and/or transfer of a digital asset by mobile, wireless devices using a digital voucher. The digital voucher references a primary content that contains all of the expression for that particular asset and a secondary content that contains information that can be distilled out as a preview. The information in the primary content can be limited to a specified duration or a specific number of viewings. The author, owner, or possessor of the digital asset specifies the terms and conditions for distribution of the digital asset. The digital voucher authorizes the mobile, wireless device to access a specified primary or secondary content that may be located elsewhere in the network. The mobile, wireless device can download a copy of portions or all of the content depending on the terms specified in the voucher.

  • Publication number: 20030005327
Abstract: A system for protecting copyrighted materials which are digitally transferred. A terminal is wirelessly connected to a server, digital rights management engine and content storage device. After the user is authenticated, the server gains authorization to forward the content to the user. By having almost all functions in the secure area of the server, illegal copying is less likely to occur.

  • Publication number: 20020159596
Abstract: A personal trusted device is capable of communicating with a rendering machine such as an audio amplifier. Content to be played on the amplifier is selected by a user of the personal trusted device, the relevant permissions being negotiated between the device and the machine. Thus, it is possible for encrypted digital content to be rendered at a location and on a machine suited to the user's requirements.
