  • Publication number: 20070039222
Abstract: A muzzle-loading firearm having a barrel and a pivoting firing mechanism. The barrel has a breech plug, a pivoting junction axle, and a blocking axle, and the firing mechanism has a trigger, hammer, striker and notch. The firing mechanism is pivotally attached to the barrel at the pivoting junction axle and the blocking axle is movably aligned in the notch. When the firing mechanism is pivoted, it is guided by the blocking axle in the notch ensuring sufficient clearance between said firing mechanism for easy placement of a percussion cap.

  • Publication number: 20050115129
Abstract: A method and apparatus for loading and ejecting ignition devices into a muzzle-loading firearm. A magazine contains a plurality of ignition devices, which are sequentially loaded from the magazine onto the breech plug of the firearm by a sliding bolt or other loading assembly. After firing, the loading assembly is actuated to extract and eject the spent ignition device and load a new ignition device onto the breech plug.

  • Patent number: 6216380
Abstract: A cap adapter breech plug for muzzle loading firearms utilizes a cylindrical plug with barrel and breech ends and having a passage extending axially therethrough, a coaxial counterbore about the passage at the breech end of the plug, an axial slot along the side of the counterbore, and an exhaust passage extending generally radially from the passage adjacent the inner end of the counterbore to the outer surface of the plug for exhausting gases from the axially extending passage. A spring seated in the plug has a portion extending through the axial slot and into the counterbore to bear resiliently against the casing of a cap seated in the counterbore to retain it in the plug.

  • Patent number: 5109622
Abstract: A rifle which is comprised of a barrel, an internal striker, a firing device connected to the striker, and a base which includes the butt and the lower part of the weapon. The striker receives a spring in a hole, which rests in a rear plug of the barrel. The firing mechanism is connected to a bolt lever and safety which inserts transversely therein. The firing mechanism is at the same time a safety, since when the weapon is loaded it is in non-firing position, and the outside activation of the safety catch is necessary to make the discharge.

  • Patent number: 4843747
Abstract: Accessories for muzzle-loading firearms including a wrench for working with the nipples of muzzle-loading firearms, with a cylindrical tubular body equipped with a truncated conical end with a circular longitudinal axial opening. A continuation of this opening, which is circular, receives replacement nipples controlled by the end of the opening itself and by a pin that goes through the base body. A nut plugs the opening in the tubular body and is screwed onto the other inside end of the base body. The nut is provided with a rod which passes through the pin and the nipples. A further accessory is provided in the form of a ramrod provided with metal ends pressure-fit and secured to the wood body of the ramrod by some notches that penetrate into the wood of the ramrod.
