  • Publication number: 20170276461
Abstract: A projectile deployment system includes an entangling projectile including a pair of pellets and a tether connecting the pellets. A projectile casing includes a pair of sockets, each socket sized to carry one of the pair of pellets and a selectively activatable pressure source, carried by the projectile casing. The pressure source is capable of expelling the entangling projectile from the projectile casing toward a subject. A launcher carries an activator operable to activate the pressure source to expel the entangling projectile from the projectile casing toward the subject. The projectile casing is removably engageable with the launcher to allow removal of the projectile casing from the launcher after expulsion of the entangling projectile from the projectile casing.

  • Publication number: 20170224281
Abstract: The invention provides a physiological probe that comfortably attaches to the base of the patient's thumb, thereby freeing up their fingers for conventional activities in a hospital, such as reading and eating. The probe, which comprises a separate cradle module and sensor module, secures to the thumb and measures time-dependent signals corresponding to LEDs operating near 660 and 905 nm. The cradle module, which contains elements subject to wear, is preferably provided as a disposable unit.

  • Patent number: 8934650
Abstract: A low profile ultrasonic emitter comprises a support member operable to support an ultrasonic emittive material, the support member including a plurality of support ribs, each support rib being spaced from adjacent support ribs and extending longitudinally along the support member. An ultrasonic emittive film is coupled to upper portions of the support ribs so as to be carried by the support member. A first electric lead is coupled to a first face of the emittive film and a second electric lead coupled to an opposing face of the emittive film. The first and second leads are coupled to their respective faces adjacent one another but staggered from one another so as to not overlap one another when the film is positioned between the leads.
