  • Publication number: 20100013645
Abstract: A method and system of globally monitoring space weather conditions, use an imager, including one or more telescopic instruments and one or more processors, containing computer program code. The imager is configured on a platform; and positioned in the near Earth space environment, where, based on the executed computer program code, the imager compiles information about space weather conditions, by directly detecting electron emissions on a global basis. Network interfaces coupled with the imager provide, over a communications network, a plurality of communications and information, about space weather conditions, between the imager and a plurality of operational space assets and operational Earth assets. The plurality of communications and information about space weather conditions includes signals and information which automatically alert the plurality of operational space assets and operational Earth assets of effects of a solar wind.

  • Publication number: 20100011089
Abstract: A method for operating a computer network for example a school to preload the content of web addresses on the local memory, i.e. the web cache memory for use in for example a subsequent lesson. The network comprises at least one device, a web cache memory, and internet access apparatus to connect a device on the network to internet using a web browser, relevant devices on the network being accessible to a network administrator and defined network users (teachers and pupils), a method whereby one of said defined network users (teachers) uses a modified web browser to define a set of web addresses (web pages) to be accessed, said set of web addresses being stored in the network, and operates the network to cause the content of the set of web addresses to be stored on said web cache memory, whereby the content may be accessed by the pupils during said lesson via the network without further access to internet.

  • Patent number: 7400322
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses and systems directed, in one implementation, to a system of dynamically spawned, virtual, three-dimensional (3D) viewports which render transparently within the elements of, or on top of, an existing desktop display environment, allowing rendered objects to seamlessly interact and move between different 3-dimensional viewport spaces and the two-dimensional (2D) screen space of the desktop environment. The present invention, in one implementation, renders multiple 3-dimensional viewports and free floating 3-dimensional objects on the client desktop, seamlessly mixed into the normal event and rendering pipeline of the computing device's 2-dimensional screen aligned desktop and windowed environment.
