  • Patent number: 12129743
Abstract: A downhole electrical power generation device is provided that includes at least one magnetic element, an electrically conductive element, and a member configured to be positioned within downhole fluid and to vibrate when the downhole fluid flows across a surface of the member. One of the magnetic element and the electrically conductive element is positioned on the member, and the other is configured to be positioned such that the electrically conductive element is located in a magnetic field produced by the at least one magnetic element to generate electrical power on vibration of the member. A method of generating electrical power downhole is further provided.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 27, 2020
Date of Patent: October 29, 2024
    Assignee: Expro North Sea Limited
Inventors: Stuart Ward, Julian Richard Trinder
  • Patent number: 11994024
Abstract: A downhole injector apparatus for injecting a taggant into a wellbore includes an injector nozzle outlet and a taggant reservoir in fluid communication with the injector nozzle outlet and configured to hold the taggant to be injected. The apparatus further includes a pressure wave generator configured to apply a pressure wave within the reservoir to expel the taggant from the reservoir through the injector nozzle outlet.

  • Publication number: 20220145754
Abstract: A transmitter for use in downhole telemetry and/or control is provided. The transmitter comprises a mixer; modulator; and signal generation apparatus configured to generate a frequency modulated signal. The mixer is configured to generate an output signal based on the frequency modulated signal. A frequency spectrum of the output signal comprises upper and lower sidebands disposed about a suppressed or reduced frequency of the frequency modulated signal. The modulator is operable to modulate an input signal onto the output signal. A telemetry system and associated methods are also provided.
