Patent number: 11125853Abstract: A method and system for determining a position and orientation of a receiver relative to a transmitter includes transmitted positioning signals having different frequency components that define a common period. One or more of the transmitted positioning signal have identifiable phase characteristics relative to the start of the common period. The positioning signals are received at the receiver. A time point corresponding to the start of the common period is determined from the received positioning signals. The polarities of the received signals can then be determined based on properties of the positioning signals relative to the start of the common period and relative to properties of the transmitted positioning signals. These polarities can be used to track a signed position and uniquely associated orientation of the receiver relative to the transmitter.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 2017Date of Patent: September 21, 2021Assignee: Andra Motion Technologies Inc.Inventors: Kenzie Phillips, Jamie Ryan Mascola, Julian Taylor, Jeff Levy

Patent number: 10317775Abstract: An adjustment device and associated method is disclosed, for adjusting an equipment, such as a camera, having an actuator for adjusting a variable setting, such as a lens setting (focus, iris, zoom). A control system drives the actuator and command component of the adjustment device to reflect a position of the actuator. In a slave mode, the command component is driven by the control system. In an override mode, a manual operation of the command component drives the actuator of the equipment. Also disclosed are a method for building a model of a lens, a method for treating an image capture to produce a visual effect, a method for creating a node in a model representing a given space, a method for setting a node in a model based on a known node, and a method for calibrating a node in a model.Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 2015Date of Patent: June 11, 2019Assignee: Andra Motion Technologies Inc.Inventors: Antony Fisher, Julian Taylor, Michael Macdonald, Jeffrey Levy

Patent number: 7434156Abstract: Provided is a method, system, program, and computer readable medium for maintaining a database of objects. At least one structured document is received representing an instance of an object including attributes and attribute values defined for a class. Content of the structured document representing the object is added into the database, wherein the database is capable of storing multiple structured documents representing multiple objects. In another implementation, an instance of at least one object including attributes and attribute values defined for a class is generated. For each generated object, a structured document is generated representing the object and including a representation of the attributes and attribute values in the object. Each structured document is transferred to the database to maintain.Type: GrantFiled: November 27, 2000Date of Patent: October 7, 2008Assignee: Sun Microsystems, Inc.Inventors: Terence Leong, Mahima Mallikarjuna, Julian Taylor
